World class is not a phrase I use often, partly because I think it's overused on overrated players I.e Rooney.

Suarez, RVP, Kompany, Silva, Yaya Toure, Aguero are all World Class players, I include Juan Mata in that bracket too.

When comparisons were made to Zola I thought it was premature at best, but I think Mata is one of if not the most technically gifted footballer we've had at Chelsea. Mata has aided us to Champions League and FA Cup trophies, if he never wins the Premier League I will be angry and quite frankly disgusted.

Oscar and Hazard have potential but no Chelsea player at current is fit to lace his boots, this is a special player and a rose that grew beneath concrete. For all the wrong the board have done one of the best footballing things they ever did was decide to build this team around Mata because with a decent manager and a top striker at the helm we can start talking about Chelsea being back where we were 4-5 years ago.

MATA--Chelsea player of the year 2012/13 and then to become a member of the Chelsea Hall of Fame!

yeah...

Bale - 17 goals, 3 assists.
Mata - 17 goals, 22 assists.

you really ain't got a clue have you herbert?

Hm.

And yet you don't hear Mata being described as in a a class of three, along with Messi and Ronaldo, do you?

Strange that.

Only complete ****wits like some Spuds and Jeff Stelling compare Bale to them. Add to the fact that he's British too, dread to think what the levels of overratedness would be if he was English.

Scary thing is, you actually think he is up there with them, don't you?

HIAG's argument against actual stats was that Bale is sometimes compared to people he, or anyone else, is nowhere near. Good one.

Mata's not World Class, neither's Suarez, neither's Silva, neither's Bale.

For someone that reckons the league is so weak you think we have an awful lot of World Class players, DL.

According to DL City have 4 world class players, yet United have 1. Yet United are 12 points clear and still in the CL, unlike City

Mata and Bale and RVP will be world class if they keep up their current levels over a few seasons. Until then not.

bale is not as good technically as Mata but is direct, more powerful and more selfish. He is ronaldo-lite

We actually agree... well mostly. If RVP continues banging in the goals as expected this season he will have been scoring at a very high rate for 2 and a half season. The fact that he was bailing Arsenal out for a year and a half and then left to make a big step up at United whilst continuing his same high level of form for me shows just how good he is. World Class for sure.

Bale and Mata need to prove themselves over a longer period. I'm really surprised DL called Suarez World Class as he's surely the best example of people getting carried away with a quality, technical player coming into a run of form. I think yesterday was like his 5th goal against a top 10 side this season and a series of misses against Zenit summed up how he's a long way away from being the difference in important matches even when gifted some great chances. You have to look at where he's playing too, some will put him on the right in their team of the season, or whatever, but he's been a striker when performing at his best this season and when you look at the long list of strikers that are clearly better than him it's mad to call him World Class.

Don't talk ****, you are definitely not neutral with some of the tripe you spout about Chelsea. Madrid have way more world class players than Atletico, they're still behind them in the league so you're point there is mute.

Oh and since you love stats, how about comparing Mata's to Bale's. Mata is world class and would walk into every side, bar Barca, in the world.

I semi agree with you, Mata has been doing is since he joined us and has been by far our most important player this season, plus he's only 24! Same with RVP, he's shown without injury he is a grade A forward who would easily, in my opinion, get into any side on the planet (bar Barca if you're counting Messi as a striker of course).

Most 'world class' players should be regulars in their national team surely - difficult to justify them being selected for the World squad otherwise
