Ayala is behind Carragher, Skirtel, Agger, The Greek (or his replacement if he doesnt get a new contract), Wilson and Kelly. He was sent on loan twice last season whilst the other young lads got a shot in first team. Liverpool will have a massive cull of the youngsters, Ayala will be one of them.

Laziness! It's Sotirios Kyrgiakos, though Notorious Kyrgyzstan (bugger me, I spelt that right!) is what I end up calling him. :D

Did Dalglish take over before or after Ayala signed for Derby? Interested to know if he might have been next in line for a shot at the first team...

Good question that.

Hodgson was sacked on the 8th of Jan.

Dalglish was appointed caretaker on the same day.

Ayala went on loan to Derby on Feb 11th.

Not all that a clear indication however, as the agreement with Derby might have been earlier and Dalglish might have let him go because he hadn't the time to assess him given he was a bit busy trying to save Liverpoo from relegation.

On the other hand it MIGHT mean he didn't fancy him.

Androws Townsend is a good shout, he looked lively for Millwall when they played us at the KC.

but wasnt dalglish already workin at the club?? something sticks in my mind that he was workin there in some role so he would already know whats what in terms of playin staff

Dalglish was running the youth academy from July 2009 until he was appointed manager, he'll have made a decision about Ayala's future already.

Daglish was already at the club though in some youth development capacity, watches all Liverpool games (including academy) as he loves the club. Sure he will have more of an ideal of Ayalas ability. I had heard of Ayala before he came to us, had no real idea about Robinson or Flannaghan, to me that says they, and Kelly are favoured above Ayala
