The dip he got on that was unbelievable!

Magic!

Bales confidence has helped him rediscover his free kick mojo!

How does he go from missing an open goal to that in the space of a few minutes?

A few days ago I was not wanting Bale to take free kicks as they hasn't been very good. I suppose they are a bit like buses!

3 this season for club and country? not bad for someone that cant take a free kick :D

Bale's free kick was as good as any I've seen <ok> Up there with Ronaldo's

We can't win this competition either,.. not this season,.. but at least qualifying for Champions league means, amounst other things:-
We stand a chance of keeping Star player(s) and we can can attract others.
Not to mention the funds derived for CL football
and not having to play the likes of 'this lot' on a Thursday night.
As you know Jack.

But what's the point of having the players and the money?

Answer: to win football matches and competitions, the glory, the special moments. If we win the Europa League or the FA Cup or the League Cup that will be a special moment and will be a bit of glory.

It would have been a soft penalty. But yeah, lucky the ref didn't give it.

I'm thinking more and more pens are the luck of the draw. A penalty there would have been justified, but it wasn't as bad as the one Man U should have given up yesterday. It seems as if maybe 2/3 penalties which "should" be given aren't.

it did look like a blatant pen, however gomis has a clumsy body movement which is likely the reason for the ref not giving it.

I hear you., and I'm all for glory, but why get rid of Redknapp to aim for mediocrity.

gallas didnt need to head the ball away into the danger area, he panics too much

As good as Bale's free kick was, that strike from Umtiti totally surpassed it. Incredible <yikes>

Lloris would have saved that.......
You have to hold your hands up sometimes and say great goal. Unbelievable strike. That is probably a 1 in 100 to catch that as perfectly as that.
