I'd rather we get the 3 points on Monday.

AVB has said this game is going to act as barometer to assess how far Spurs have come. Frankly, in my book, that's the only justification for picking such a strong team,. in this 'neither here nor there' competition.
 
I see what your saying Bajan but it is a competition we have a chance of winning. I know Chelsea fluked the champions league but I can't see us doing the same if we manage to qualify over the coming seasons. We are out of the FA cup and the League cup. I agree with AVB lets take this seriously and win something. It's better than the league cup and the last trophy we won aside from the league cup was back in 1991 some 22 years ago.

We can't win this competition either,.. not this season,.. but at least qualifying for Champions league means, amounst other things:-
We stand a chance of keeping Star player(s) and we can can attract others.
Not to mention the funds derived for CL football and not having to play the likes of 'this lot' on a Thursday night.

But why can't we win it? Fulham got to the final the other year and so have Middlesbrough, Celtic and Rangers. I completely understand where you are coming from but I would love to see Spurs get to a European final something I have never seen in my lifetime!!
