Plus, IMO, Pirlo is the best deep lying playermaker. No one can spot and time a long range pass better IMO.

The Spanish league is not the strongest league in the world. It might have a lot of technically adept players, but it's still weak as piss. Messi etc only make it due to their immense performances versus genuinely strong european teams <ok>

And I think Falcao's vastly overrated, just like Neymar, although the latter more so....

Checklist for Brazilian strikers-

Is he fast-ish- Check
Is he stronger than the weakest defenders on earth- Check
Is he a reasonable finisher when given all the time in the world- Check

By god, he must be Pele reincarnated!

Falcao's just not impressed me much when I've seen him play, and most people who do go nuts over him seem to have never seen him in their lives. He's good, no question, but until he does it for one of the best teams in the world, he ain't getting in my list <ok>

Reasonable finisher? The guy is absolutely lethal. Almost every Atletico game I watch he scores. He isn't even the fastest striker around but because of his fantastic movement it doesn't matter.

Is he that impressive outside of the box? No, but Van Persie isn't spectacular outside of the box either (imo). He is in the team to score goals, and he does that!

LUCASSSSSSSS I said Brazilian... Hence I'm not talking Falcow... <wah>

Why don't you put him in your list if you love him so much and want his babies <nahnah>

<laugh> Didn't see that Brazilian bit, apologies!

Here is a list I made on the Liverpool board yesterday (or the day before):

1. Messi
2. Xavi
3. Ronaldo
4. Iniesta
5. Xabi Alonso
6. Falcao
7. Van Persie
8. Suarez
9. Busquets
10. Cavani

Think that's about fair. I think it changes quite regularly but thats my one for now! Best striker in the world for me!

1. Messi
2. Ronaldo
3. Iniesta

There's obviously no contention about these 3 at the top.

Here's where it gets interesting.

4. Xabi Alonso
( Alonso over Xavi, if you guys have watched as many El Clasicos as I have, I think you guys would agree with me that Alonso would never look out of place in a Barca lineup? He does more than Xavi does, who's role is just to pass the ball. He is an underrated tackler, and starts every single one of Real's attacks , whereas Xavi has Busquets do all the dirty work for him )
5. Pirlo
(Amazing vision and midfield maestro , we all know about his Euro performance)
6. Xavi ( That said, Xavi is a great passer himself and I rate him highly too )
7. Robin van Persie
( Don't really like him, but have to give him props for being able to finally stay healthy and play his best football in his career ,sidenote Rooney has been pretty meh for a while now)
8. Vincent Kompany
( Who's the best player in the Man City team? It's 100% Vincent Kompany. Where else do you find a better defender in the world? Hardly)
9. Philipp Lahm
( One of the best fullbacks in the world without a doubt, can do everything you can ask for a FB )
10. Sergio Aguero
( World-class striker scores with both feet , too many qualities to list here)
11. Yaya Toure
( Sissoko's a poor man's Yaya Toure. At least for now, that's enough for us. What's more he has destroyed us twice at SJP already.. )
12. Iker Casillas
( Him or Joe Hart might be the two best keepers in the world, despite Casillas's recent troubles he's without a doubt one of the best in the world if not the best)
13. David Silva
( Sublime playmaker )
14. Neymar
(Neymar is here on reputation. None of us knows how he'll do in a big league but he should do fine given what he's capable of doing to Williamsons elsewhere)
15. Ribery
( Is there any doubt that Ribery is still a force? He's more dangerous than Robben IMO for Bayern)
16. Cavani
(Beast of a striker. Complete forward. He'll move to a bigger team when he decides to, no short of suitors)
17. Javier Pastore
(He is what we thought Jonas was going to be after his first game for us. And more, even more for sure)
18. Radamel Falcao
(I didn't want to place him too high, as I think he's a tad overrated. He's good no doubt, hence 18th for him.)
19. Thiago Silva
(One of the fastest centre backs in the game, and superb all around as well)
20. Rooney
(He has great all-around play, despite not being a natural goal poacher does everything else very well)

Honourable Mentions
Joe Hart Mario Gotze Robert Lewandowski Eden Hazard Sergio Ramos Yohan Cabaye Marco Reus Marek Hamsik Arjen Robben Gareth Bale Luis Suarez

Players I refused to put on the list
Zlatan Ibrahimovic(overrated ****, I know all about his "Great goals" scored, but he misses more chances than Cisse, which explains why his Barca stint came to an abrupt end)
Almost wanted to put Falcao here, but the Madrid derby might have been the one game I watched where he reminded me of a certain Demba taking wild shots from ridiculous ranges...But then again he might've been fighting a lone war with the kind of quality he had on his team..

You truly think Xavi is a better footballer than Ronaldo?

Ronaldo over Messi for me like, more an all-round player with just as many tricks and skills, but better in the air defensivley and offensivley.

This! Heard someone earlier say Messi was the most complete footballer they'd every seen. Really? Ronaldo could play at any outfield position and be effective. Center Back, Centre Mid, anywhere. His physique and technique make him the perfect all rounder. Not to mention his continued variation of goal scoring ability, compared to Messi's dribble and slot in.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Messi can't/hasn't scored 30 yarders/headers/free kicks, nor is he wrong to continue to play the way which gets him so many goals, all I'm saying is that Ronaldo has so much in his locker that he can pick something special out from almost anywhere consistently.

No Thomas Muller in the list?

He's having a better season than Silva and Ozil combined.

Tash, Ribery...have a word mate. That's an awful shout, he's been his usual disappointing self this season. Totally over rated, if you've been watching Bayern this season you'd be wondering the same as me, why Muller wasn't in the list.

So consistent, that Madrid are sitting 3rd in La Liga, 16 points from Barcelona....

Messi is quite far ahead of Cronaldo imo, scored almost as many goals as Cronaldo in his career as well with more than a hundred less games, that is before mentioning the massive gulf in assists, which Messi has a hell of a lot more then.

Messi - 441 games(inc Argies) 330 goals
Cronaldo - 603 games(inc Portugal) 343 goals

Aye never seen messi control a ball on his back or win a defensive header in his own box. Messi is quality, no one can deny that but Ronaldo, for me, has it all!

The Ronaldo/Messi debate will always come down to preference. Without a time machine and both players swapping clubs/career paths we'd never know who was the best for certain but most people have settled for Messi out of the two. For me, it's Ronaldo and I don't really have a good enough reason for it, Messi would be a beautifully written Opera and Ronaldo would be an all out explosive action movie it's just preference that decides who you think is better, but I get more value for my money watching Ronnie because I like devastating drives into the net as opposed to the odd beautifully crafted chip. One of my favourite playes was Drogba, just because when he was having a good game he was untouchable and there's just nothing better for me, unless he was doing it to United.

I prefer Ronaldo too. He is able to mix things up a bit more thann Messi and has a more rounded game too.

Take Messi out of Barca and put him in the Stoke team, and he would do worse than if Ronaldo suddenlyy found himself playing there.

And someone mentioned Zlatan at Barca- the short stint was because he aws used as Fiat not a Ferrari. Not my words but his. Got to love Zlatan, the game needs characters.
