12 off 4th, 13 off relegation. Rodgers is a mug and Liverpool are destined for another season of mediocrity.
I actually don't think he's doing such a bad job, Liverpool were left in the ****ter by Dalglish and Comolli. I know they won a trophy but they wasted vast sums of money and even though the club did well to get some of the deadwood high earners off their wage bill, the advantage was squandered badly on average players. Rodgers joined a club on the slide with little money to spend and getting them back up there is a longterm job, the important thing for this season was to stop the rot and get the rebuilding started. Some fans got carried away though and thought that having a good half against you and playing well against an out of form City meant they were going to start climbing up the table.
That defeat will probably start a winless run for them. Season over now so I'll say goodbye to the mouser watch thread as it's redundant.
Just seen Suarez's diving, absolutely laughable. Can't beleive Lawro defended him, no way was that penalty a foul, luckily justice was prevailed and Gerrard saw his pen saved.
Has it come to the attention of anyone else that as things stand United can win the league at the Emirates? Can you imagine RVP whipping in a beauty at the last minute to seal the title there? It's worth noting that United pretty much have no hard away games, their fixture list now is easier than City's who still have to go to Swansea, Spurs & Everton so Arsenal may even have to do a guard of honour for RVP and clap him onto the pitch as a PL winner
Unless the special brew goes back there. All this turmoil but they're still third,a position I wish we held a little more permanently. There doesn't seem to be much interest on the site for the Lyon match. No threads have been started and hardly a mention of it. I think we can beat them over the two legs.
I'd agree with this. For me, the jury's still out on Rodgers. He was dealt a ****ty hand. Next season, if he's given support from the owners, will be a better test of his managerial skills - or otherwise!.
it's a dodgy third for them though,we have'nt been this close for a while, and Rafa,is a good enough manager to keep them up in the top 4,we are keeping the pressure on though, one slip from then and we can nip in,it's going to be interesting, and i agree with you about Lyon
Well,I can't see us losing to Wet Spam and Chelsea and City can't both get three points so here's our chance to go third and even to catch City by two points. If they draw which I think likely then we're there. It's a dodgy match because both teams are vulnerable at the back.
Or to look at it another way, 12 points behind us, 12 points ahead of Villa. 4th and 4th from bottom.
If you really think he'll be here next season Tots the men in white coats will be arriving in Sutton shortly
