Perhaps City have shot their bolt.........?That would be nice. But the PL teams have certainly given United another league title without breaking into a sweat it seems, apart from playing us!!!!!
I'm not sure that the 4-1 win is the end of your woes District. Wigan pulled a goal back and you left it late to score the last two. I think I still detect some weaknesses in the Chelsea set up.
Exactly. The other teams have died against United this year making United look incredible, except against us. The proof of the pudding will come against Real.........if United win twice,I could be persuaded!
United didn't look incredible against us or City, they were largely outplayed in both games bar a 25 minute spell. outplayed by Liverpool for the majority of both games as well, the key is winning games when you aren't at your best, something United have managed to do well that City haven't. Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all played poorly (IMO) but dug out results. Spurs should definitely have beaten United at WHL but credit to them they dug in, It's not inconceivable that United will end up on 92+ points unless the league gets its act together, damning indictment of how poor the league is if that happens IMO.
I would expect Real to win this tie comfortably - even in their current form. Utd's defence has been poor most of the season. O.k. They have Vidic back now, but I would still expect Real's attacking threat of Ronaldo, Higuain, Benzema, and Di Maria to have too much firepower for Utd's defence.
Spot on, the British media are billing it up as if United are Real's equals when in fact Real are comfortably the superior side in all departments. The United press are running along with the following propaganda to give their legion of fans hope: 1. Real are doing poorly in their league and are in disarray - Yeah, so were Chelsea, Bayern and Barca last year, all of them reached the semi final stage. Atletico the same in the Europa League. 2. Real can't defend, they leak goals. United can get an away goal at the Bernebau. - So do United, and the assumption that Real can't go to Old Trafford and score at least one is laughable at best considering this is a team that regularly scores anywhere (even Nou Camp) at free-will and even teams with some of the worst goal scoring records away from home in the PL have scored at least once at Old Trafford. 3. United are in great form in the Premier League - Well for starters, La Liga is a stronger league and Spanish teams attack with far more precision and tenacity than English sides. Real are comfortably better than any side United will have faced in the last 3/4 years. If you believe the press (United promoters) it will be a closely fought game with United shading it due to their superior league form, if you believe common sense then Real will win comfortably
United do have a chance of beating Real. The main reasons are that Real play in a less "Spanish" way than Barca or Atletico and United have shown they can score goals whether they're playing well or not. I still make Real strong favourites but Arsenal v Bayern is where I really see a one sided tie being likely.
If Arsenal score first I don't think the tie will be that one sided. Arsenal have nothing to lose which could play into their hands. That said if Bayern score first in the first 15 it'll be a whitewash.
Bayern have all but tied up their league so I can't see them being distracted. Arsenal will usually get playing at somepoint during a game but I can't see who's going to win that tie for them, are Walcott and Giroud seriously going to cause them so many problems? I just don't see it.
we were not outplayed in the 2 games mentioned, we should have gone 3 0 up against City and prior to that we held our own in that game, were outplayed in the 1 0 defeat there last season though, and the Chelsea game was even really.
Bayern Munich: P:21, W:17, D:3, L:1, GF:55, GA:7, GD:48, Pts:54. Bit good this season! Conceding a goal every three games is just ridiculous.
All I know is my reaction will During and After both maulings will be the following. During: please log in to view this image After: please log in to view this image I honestly think Celtic have a better/as good a chance of progression than Arsenal and United.
