Don't think Tiss thought about it at all...he just can't keep silent. If he had gripes, he was going to be able to put them to Cortese directly...missed his chance now.
David Gordon ‏@DavidGordon111 @mattletiss7 if you have a problem with NC why not sort it in private. Your sniping on social media is not helping SFC. Think big picture. 55m Matt Le TissierVerified account ‏@mattletiss7 @DavidGordon111 fair point Maybe someones getting through to him?
Let's hope so. Several people have sent him messages with similar sentiments (myself included) so perhaps he's realising that he doesn't have the automatic unquestioned blind support of everybody.
He's been quite conciliatory in the past with fans though and it hasn't changed his stance. I hope you're right though.
From the little I know of Matt (seen on SKY/Twitter etc) I actually find myself really disliking him, it's a shame really as he was a great player.
I'm sorry Matt, i've defended you on here in the past, but you really ****ed up this time. Talking to the Echo was never going to please Cortese, let alone continuing to criticize him. I think that NC cancelling the meeting was a self fulfilling prophesy for Matt as soon as he talked in public, if he really wanted to resolve things, the smart thing would've been to say nothing.
I'm sure he would have delegated the important jobs to more qualified people and taken a back seat. I know Le Tiss is being pretty silly here, and I can't agree with him at all on this issue, but I think he's a decent guy generally.
Hmmm, no, he doesn't need to be an ambassador, but he is a high profile representative for Saints, and the only one really. Everyone is fallible, but like Joe says, he is a decent guy as far as I can see, and an intelligent bloke compared to a lot of the idiot pundits. Maybe it isn't the end of the saga yet!
Says it all really. I'm really disappointed in Matt, today. He had a chance to resolve differences and he blew it. I don't blame Cortese cancelling the meeting, for a second, either.
I'm sure Tiss is a nice man and cares about SFC, but he has his knickers in a twist and he has a forum for his moans. I'm sure we all have people we don't like and we talk to close friends about it, but we don't go out in public and shout it from the roof tops.
Le Tiss as already stated is for a footballer an educated man but for me that makes his behaviour worse as he is well aware of his actions and not just a knee jerk reaction ,my opinion of him has dropped over the past few years from a great talent to a embittered fool
Oh I certainly think Matt is a decent man and an intelligent one too. He just has a bee in his bonnet that has been cajoled by others (Mr Stelling) and he's been caught up in the sensationalism and appointed himself as mouthpiece. That seems to have blinded his sensibilities somewhat, but hopefully judging by recent responses, that might have nudged it's way through a bit now....
Matt Le Tissier @mattletiss7 I must learn to not be so open when doing fans question and answer sessions, my mistake, apologies to all involved #wonthappenagain
Maybe he is catching on. Cortese's no bullshit approach pays dividends again?? Seriously though, hope he's serious and they can get this meeting back on.
Cortese might not like it, but Le Tiss is essentially the club's unofficial spokesman. Anyone watching Gillette Soccer Saturday will see him as the voice of Southampton.
I think he may have let that slip, but I'd think it was more slagging Cortese off to the Echo this morning that did it.
No, he really isn't. Nobody is bigger than the club however good they were. Does Sir Paul McCartney go round telling EMI how to run their record business, and constantly snipe at them in the media?
