Maybe other people may perceive MLT as spokesman, but it won't be many.

He certainly doesn't speak for me.

We don't consider Matt a spokesman for us, but, because of his high profile, outsiders believe a lot of what he says. This just supports the view held by the media about Nicola. They were surprised that we didn't turn on NC about the Nigel sacking...yes, we were angry, but Nicola has earnt enough respect for us to give him time. I can only imagine what Nicola feels about all this negative stuff after all he has done....I know I would be in knots inside not being able to retaliate, but he is right not to do so.

As much as ive loved MLT as a player & his loyalty with the Saints it appears that he has dug himself into a bit of a hole. His naivety first appeared to be shown during the proposed purchase of SFC, which, when exposed, led him to retreat to lick his wounds red faced, only to then resurface with this current fiasco with NC. MLT is FAST losing his amazing popularity with the supporters that worshipped him & had it been any other ex player than him, they would have been well & truly been lambasted by the fans.

He says that he met Nicola in a 15 min meeting after the take over...I suspect that being cold-shouldered as an ambassador after being a Saints darling for so long hurt and then the problem with Benali about his house and contract dispute. I assume that is all he refers to when saying NC has no feeling for club history. The rest seems to be innuendo. I used to have a mole at work who told me what our then manager was up to behind our backs i.e. surprise, surprise he wasn't as nice about us in his office as he was face to face. That's life.

Cannot think of another situation where an ex employee of 12 years past has been so critical of a chairman of past employer who they never worked under has been given so much media attention and support from general public when not even knowing the true facts ,Nick Holmes for example served saints for as long and as loyal as Le Tiss and put the mileage in EVERY game ,so is he entitled to freebies and a media platform to sprout off ? Think he and many other ex great players have more class and would not do so out of respect for the club and the fans, just wish Matt would do the same ,

It only seems to be Le Tiss & Benali with a problem, I haven't heard anything from other past players, that according to Matt, have been treated badly by Cortese.

I've heard that when Cortese took charge there were in the region of 800 match day concessions. Rather than decide who and who not retained the concessions he wiped the slate clean.. Given that the rest of us were effectively paying for said concessions, this seems to me to be an act to be applauded.

A guy that works at St Marys as Steward told me some stuff about Cortese. By time he had finished I was trying not to laugh in his face. <laugh>

The difference is that Benali has class and is going about things the right way.

Class doesn't appear to be in Matt's repertoire off the pitch.

Moran was permitted to be a guest, and collect money for his charity bike ride at short notice.

Paine is president. Channon has done events with the club...

Don't know about old Terry, but Saint Michael had a life after football. His beloved 'orses are as important to him as SFC. I'm delighted Terry is President. He could really have given us grief when he was dumped by Lawrie Mac after we'd been relegated. Anyone got a critical quote from either of these two legends? Thought not. Le Tissier is seriously annoying.
