I would like to say that Emanuelson (if the deal is done) is potentially a very good deal. He can provide some cover at left back, but is more likely to play down the left to provide some competition to Kaca and hopefully end the horror that is Hugo out wide!

THudd could provide the passing midfielder we have needed since Murphy/Dembele left, playing alongside Sidwell/Frimpong and allowing us to play Kara a bit less.

We wanted Boateng and I think he wanted to come (and would have been good for us), but as in the summer agents have scuppered that deal.

Need to forget about the Boateng deal. Huddlestone is proven in the league, would cost a similar amount as is 3/4 years younger. Fantastic signing if we pull it off, same goes for Emmanuelson.

Absolutely. We have agreed a deal with the club & player twice now only for agents to slow everything down. Enough is enough; Boateng just isn't good enough to jeopardise signing other players if the deal collapses again, as happened in the summer.

jack Butland is still on the market,at 3.5m not a bad bet,MS cant last much longer, and the .
younger crop is not yet ready, and I cannot see Stockdale filling the gap.

If we end the transfer window with Butland, Huddlestone, Malanda, Emmanuelson and possibly a CB/FW I will kiss Jol's shoes.

He has not given up on Hangeland according to BBC

"Fulham reject a second bid from QPR for defender Brede Hangeland according to the Daily Mail.

Rangers are close to a deal to bring former Blackburn defender Christopher Samba back to the Premier League from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, but manager Harry Redknapp has not given up on prising Hangeland, out of contract in the summer, away from Craven Cottage."

And then he complains about the agents...

The Independent and Daily Mail both say Huddlestone was told he could leave at the beginning of the month. Admittedly that was before Sandro was injured, but they've just gotten Holtby in... Let's hope the board stump up the cash.

The Guardian: Fulham close in on Urby Emanuelson but must wait for Tom Huddlestone

I hope that the comments about the board having reservations about stumping up the cash for Huddlestone is just journalistic embellishment. We've spent very little this season considering the £20m+ we've brought in and the wages cleared off our total bill. If the board is refusing to give Jol the money than I can only think that Mo is looking at selling the club before the end of the season.

Looks like he's competition on the left or the middle, rather than left back.

I don't know why we don't go in for Samba? He only wants £100k a week to play at QPR! Huge wage for the Championship.

Apparently Jol said in his post-match interview that he doesn't think Huddlestone will join.

And also, Samba would be great, but if the board won't pay £7m on Huddlestone they're not going to shell out £10m for Samba, plus his massive wages.

According to AVB we enquires about Huddlestone and have been given permission to talk to him but he doesn't know if we will follow up in it.

He said he is a very highly rated player at spurs. ( I think he's saying that to increase his value)

BBC is reporting that we are in talks about Nicolas Isimat-Mirin, 'one of the most promising centre-backs in Ligue 1'. He's 21, French and apparently going for around £2m. Sounds good if it happens.

    BBC:
BBC Sport's David Ornstein: "Fulham have contacted Bolton to enquire about signing striker David Ngog. They were knocked back and have not made a formal bid - but that does not mean the Cottagers will not return with one as the day develops. Fulham are drawing up their plans for the day over breakfast as we speak.

Do we need him? He is young and prob part of the plan to lower average age.

Wasn't that the guy we were chasing a few days ago, only for Valciennes to say they were only interested in a sale and loan back? We need a CB now, not the summer.

As for Ngog, he would seem to be a clone of Rodallega. As well as Hugo played last night, I'm not sure we need to sign another one of him!

If we go for any Bolton player it should be Lee Chung Young or Mark Davies.

Really hope we don't sign Ngog. He was poo in the PL and hasn't exactly set the Championship alight.

Also, I don't agree that we need a CB now at all. H&H with Senderos as cover is fine to see us through, we need a player to protect them, like Frimpong or somebody else.

You may be right, Bidley. Baird can also cover for H&H. Still not sure we need a CB in the summer though, I'd prefer to see Burn on the bench.
