i can't imagine any of them would be happy being third choice though.

Agreed, however it may work with one (probably Gazza) going out on loan. We also don't know what Boruc's plans are. He may be using this as a chance to re-build his stock/worth and then move on in the summer. We'd then be left with SKD and Gazza, back to square one.

Still can't believe Birmingham didn't take the £6-7m that was on offer in the Summer, they'd do well to get half that now.

They gambled that they'd be in position to get promoted at this point...or, at the very least, in position to threaten to get promoted, allowing them to command top dollar for their players. It was a big risk given their financial woes, and it has gone awry.

Is anyone concerned that Coutinho has flatly refused to sign for Saints, despite MP managing him in the past. I don't know what the reasons were, could be higher salary, better history, but certainly isn't because Liverpool have offered more.

I may have missed your point, but what's to be upset about with a player preferring to play for Liverpool than Southampton? They're a considerably bigger team than us.

Not really. He doesn't fancy playing for a relatively unknown club. That happens. Let's hope he looks back in three years time I says "****, should have signed for them"

We didn't even bid for Coutinho, so how did he reject us?. There is no actual hard evidence we made a bid is there?.

He's simply a bigger player than we could realistically attract.

Gaston Ramirez is a bigger name in world football than that mush.

Anyway, it's not the Southampton way to be so negative. We could have signed him if we wanted to and if negative fans like you weren't holding us back.

Damn, did I scare him off? :(
