He's only 17 though.People moan about Denilson but when we bought him wasn't he thought of as one of the best Brazilians in the World Youth Cup ?Wasn't is the same with Carlos Vela playing for Mexico ?
There's a difference. They played in different leagues, and had difficulty adjusting. Shaw looks a premier league player, he wouldn't need to adjust.
I'd love £10 for every young kid i've seen made an impact in their first season but done absoloutely **** all after and then dispeared into obscurity. Are you saying also that we should never buy foreign players such as Villa,M'Vila and countless other names i've seen posted on this thread ?
They will watch him play once in an Arsenal shirt and shut up. Shaw is going right to the top. I really, really hope that we can and try and get him in the summer.
There's another difference. These guys (Villa, M'Vila) are proven, Vela and Denilson weren't. As they're older, they're probably mentally tougher than young players.
You can't name that many 17 years old who can come in and make such an impact for their club in the PL. He is also so consistent. It's easy to spot the top young players who you know are going to be world class players. The likes of Rooney,Wilshere,Gerrard and co. IMO, Shaw is one of those.
How do you know they wont have problems adjusting to the PL though > The Mirror is reporting that we are still in for Diame & Villa http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...936?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter I can't understand why we want to buy a complete football club though
For every Rooney,Shaw,Wilshere,Gerrard & co there is a Danny Cadamateri <sic> and countless others.Luke Shaw may well go on to be a world class LB but he may also amount to nothing
It will be intersting to see how the lad developes The Mirror is reporting that Stoke want Jenkinson on loan http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...l-transfers-carl-jenkinson-is-a-stoke-1555924
A new LB is hardly a priority. Maybe if the rest of our squad was perfect then it'd make sense for us to go for a 17 year old with potential.
Shaw isn't going to be cheap. If he moves he'll probably end up at Man Utd anyway, Evra isn't getting any younger and Buttner/Fabio don't look too impressive.
I'm a big fan of shaw. Think he'd be a quality signing. He's already at Gibbs level. Will be the best LB in the country within a few Seasons. Not exactly what we need at the moment though.
Shaw will end up at Utd. Not sure theres any point loaning Jenkinson to Stoke so he can sit on their bench instead of ours
