Errrr am I on the wrong thread? I thought this one was about Saint David.....how did a target get into the equation.??

 He could well be a greedy bastard, but he may have had chances to move on loan much earlier but may be we refused to pay some of his wage or such like. I agree moaning in the press while on full pay is a bit pathetic. But i do agree with Fran that contracts work both ways and all parties must be prepared for that. How much do you reckon he's on any way, it cant be mega bucks (in footy terms) surely?

Well Adkins said we will find it hard shifting the fringe players because of our promotions. So I would of thought a fair amount, wouldn't surprise me that a player like Dickson is on around 8k a week.

I've never seen Targett play but I can confidently say that nobody knows if he will become a first team regular. We have people talking about him being better at some things than Shaw and maybe turning him into a winger etc... all conjecture until people have seen him play multiple games for the first team.

Something like 95% of our youth players will play below Premier League level. I (used to) hear the same praise of Jack Stephens yet when I saw him pre-season against Wolves he was awful.

You can tell Targett will be our next class lb, I have seen him play for the youth. I also saw Shaw play at the same level and was saying at the start of the season Shaw should be playing. Anyways back to Astori any news?.

While eagerly awaiting your response i have changed my opinion a little (you can sleep easier now i'm sure).
How do football contracts work in the main? If its a case of us not offering him a fair pay off and he's desperate to play football elsewhere then thats one thing but if he just has no motivation whilst getting paid, he's fair game.

Trouble is our success story so far...........When you have a 5 year plan and the like your planning goes into that. You bring players in to help you achieve that move upwards it gives you the opportunity to asses them for each league. In other words you buy or bring on players that you know already that they will manage to play in the league above. Bearing in mind your time table, contracts would be awarded accordingly to fit in with your time it. In my mind because we did move a season at a time we were did not have that extra season the we needed in the championship to fully prepare for the Premier. Which would have meant shipping more out over the two years and bringing in a few more stalwarts spread over a bit of time. Teams that went out and bought a few dozen players are struggling for a good reason. I have always said it takes a lot of time to gel into a team.

Well in Dickson case he wanted the club to pay him off, then moaned when we didn't(not even thinking he could bargain a lil and get a mutual consent pay off). He then moaned that he wasn't playing or in Adkins plans ( at the start of the season) yet only since yesterday gone out on loan.(not confirmed yet I think? And even if he has we will pay most if not all his wages.)

To be fair to Dickson, he wanted to move in order to play regularly (or at all) and I think he was even willing to take a pay cut but the club demanded a transfer fee for him, that's what he was complaining about. I think it was Yeovil who wanted him but they didn't want to pay for him. Think we should have let him go then to be honest.

Italian press saying astori's agent is in Hilton hotel MILAN!

Load of hot air rumours he was in the UK!

Was hoping we would have had something sorted by this weekend even if it was just a loan!!

It was purely wages! He like the rest of the team got promotion bonus (twice) meaning he is on 10-12k at the club, he wanted saints to pay his contract up and let him leave on a free and we said sod you, you can Rot!

Yes he was willing to go for free but not without a pay up of his contract.(so I was told)
