I read somewhere yesterday that we were also interested in Paul Benson. Not so sure there's much to it though as we're linked with him every year.
name that hant been mentioned but thought could be worth consideration is Rene Howe? Scoring freely at Torquay, looked good when he was here before. No rumours or anything but would be interested to get peoples thoughts on him
Quite a few sites have suggested that we are going to sign Scott Wagstaff from Charlton. He's been a bit out of favour of recent times only playing once for them in the League Cup and already had a loan spell at Leyton Orient this season. The guy is a local lad and only lives around the corner from my Nan near West Malling. I think this deal could happen and I know Wagstaff was instrumental in their last couple of campaigns in League One. Could be a good signing if it happens although the numbers for midfielders would start racking up again.

everyone keeps talking about numbers here and numbers ther, but Allen has said he wants to bring in players that improve the team. if that means bringing in a better midfielder at the right price then so be it. yes he will be balancing budgets etc, but if he can't find the right striker etc then i would expect to se him bring a player in at another position if he thinks it improves the team even if its not a need
I did read that this morning. Not at all surprised though. It is a Bit unimaginative really how the main people we've been linked with during this window are all former players who left under Hessenthaler.

Who is going to pay £200k for a player who's contract is up in June and has played 34 games in the last 3 seasons? 19 in 34 is pretty good though!
Don't really care what Fifa thinks about him, when you are younger you judge a lot by Fifa but these days it annoys me when people say he is good because of what he is like on Fifa, they only rate Matt Fish 62 due to an update before that he was a 58 whereas Frampton is a 62 and Davies is a 58, Burton is only a 62 and they rate Charlie Allen a 63, the game is out of touch on ratings in the lower league.
I only had a nose there as I had never heard of him until the rumour! Not sure if already mentioned but Scott Wagstaff's name has on a rumour site! Another defensive midfielder??
