I like Diame too, but I couldn't see him moving from west ham to us, especially given our league position. The upside is that Senegal didn't qualify for ACON. Even with Ba and cisse up top!

Apparently Spurs are listening to bids for Livermore and Huddlestone. I'd take Huddlestone, and with the Jol connection it's not out of the question.

Strange, seen a few reports saying he was training with us and Jol was considering him...

He was indeed training with us and according to a few reports he had been here for almost a year! Strange decision, but if a player doesn't want FFC then I don't want the player.

He has been and for some time but the deal is definitely off Bidley. The report Bandit mentions was in the Sun today and quoting Bolat's Agent. There are conflicting stories as to why it fell through but it did as of last Friday and hence the new rumours about us being in for Butland

Oh I don't doubt the deal is off, it's just strange that he's been training with us in England and yet doesn't want to move to England. Oh well, he sounded like another Smoggy to me.

According to Sky a work permit has been granted for Derek Boateng, but he has gone to the ACON and some 'wrinkles' still need sorting.

Sky Sports understands that Fulham have secured a work permit for Derek Boateng.

Boateng himself has already had a medical and his discussed personal terms, but he has now flown out to South Africa to link-up with Ghana ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. Whilst Boateng is Africa, Fulham will look to finalise a deal with his club - Dnipro of Ukraine.

Talks have been ongoing, but there is no hurry for Fulham as Boateng will not be able to play until February anyway due to Ghana's participation.

Not a paper rumour but a tip from a Crystal Palace chum who rates Yannick Bolasie, and considers him a better prospect than Wilfred Zaha. Just a thought really but a reminder also that there could be bargains playing in the Championship.

For some reason the signing of goalkeeper Sinan Bolat has fallen through - if he wasn't signed by today (Friday 4th January) he was due to return to Standard Liege and Jol said nothing about him in his press conference.

We are however still being linked with signing a new keeper and the rumours re-surfacing are Stecklenberg and Robson. With Butland being added a a new one.

Although the papers (and the bookies) still have us as favourites to get Butland, Stecklenberg would appear to becoming more of an option -

Stecklenerg's agent Rob Jansen insists the goalkeeper will leave the capital club if he is not guaranteed a first-team place. Tomorrow we will have an interview with the board," Jansen told Voetbal International. "If it turns out that this situation continues, we are gone. Maarten has not come to Roma to sit on the bench."

"Fulham are believed to be closing in on a deal for Ghana international midfielder Derek Boateng. Sources close to the Black Stars squad suggest the 29-year-old has already passed a medical and obtained a work permit, reports the London Evening Standard."

The translation in this article is awful but it seems to be saying that, following the meeting, Roma are willing to let him go for 5m euros (roughly £3.2m). And we are the named buyer.

(AGI) - Rome, 8 Jan - Within twenty-four hours Stekelenburg could be the new Fulham goalkeeper. The general director of Roma, Franco Baldini, will meet 'short the entourage of the number one Dutch and know' how Londoners are willing to spend on the card: the general manager and 'contrary to the sale of Steke, but -'' refers transfers .'' com - bid equal to or exceeding 5 million euro could falter'' do''. In case of transfer of Stekelenburg, Lobont will be 'confirmed until the end of the contract and'' third'' become'' second'' goalkeeper, with the Lithuanian Svedkauskas more and more' integrated into the first team. It appears, however, the remote possibility 'of a return to the market. Cassio, Corinthians goalkeeper, remains a goal for June and convinces little Curci, currently on loan at Bologna, which in this league has played just two pieces of game, held back by continued physical problems.

There are other stories saying that the asking price could be as low as 3m euros.

Banal Nicolita - Romanian midfielder playing for St Etienne. He says he doesn't know anything about a move to us, but we're linked to him from a couple of stories.

Tom Huddlestone - Spurs midfielder. I'd like this guy at CC, nice to see a rumour to go with it. (includes Stekelenburg info)

I'd be particularly up for signing Huddlestone as we do have a distinct lack of English players at the club, which is a pain because of the new PL squad rulings.

Which is exactly why I don't expect us to jettison Senderos any time soon. He's an okay squad player and is essentially a "free" squad place whilst we have few other home-grown players in the squad.
