Big surprise. **** wum, media fans all been going on about our bad spending for years now. But it's all history until you lot are doing well eh It will be "History" next season too when you end up yet again winning absolutely nothing. Spurs fans call getting 4th an achievement Manu Chelsea City Liverpool Arsenal Spurs. Only Spurs call getting 4th an achievement out of that list. Only spurs in that list will never win it either
It's not a Wum, just plain facts. I can understand your being a little touchy about the subject. So would I be if Spurs had pissed away almost £100mil on that bunch of second raters
In the league, only the Manchester clubs and possibly Chelsea are in with a shout of winning it. Let's see how Arsenal react to not qualifying to see how it affects them. Everyone says CL is only about money, but for me it is about seeing the likes of Milan, Inter and Real Madrid lining up at WHL. The game against Inter was very emotional watching for a Spurs fan (well it was for me) and these are games anyone should be excited about. The money is secondary.
Might have been had it actually been true. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/live...-didn-t-give-up-his-pay-off-100252-31001322/\ Work of fiction, unfortunately.
'second raters' that got to 2 cup finals winning 1 and ended up in the same European competition as Spurs? The table doesn't lie and Spurs are 8 points ahead of us mid-season and could possibly win the 3rd/4th place trophy this year. Good luck.
I knew HIAG was a tool but you lot.. http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/d...ans-tweet-abuse-at-the-wrong-ashley-williams/ Doh! Manchester United fans Tweet abuse at American woman named Ashley Williams! Monday, December 24th, 2012
You see, we are not doing great. I can agree. You lot NEVER do great, yet you are giving it socks ever since getting to the pinnacle of 4th, otherwise it has been fairly cordial between our fan sets. I would say spuds have been mediocre this last few years by overall standards, Liverpool worse than that I agree, but that's how it is mate. And this last few years have been your best spell, which says tons, but what rankles is the change in attitude of a lot of your fans since going from below average to average. You say we live in the past. I say We have not changed
I think we're now better than just average. We are one, maybe two players away from having title contending side. Which, considering we hardly spend any money by PL standards, is some achievement. If we can keep what we've got, get top players like Kaboul back to fitness, and add that bit of midfield creation we currently lack, we could be pushing the two Mancs next season. Obviously, we are never going to have the strength in depth of City or Chelsea, we don't have the bottomless money pit that they have. Our club is run like business. To be fair to you guys, most of the damage mentioned by Goal.com was caused by that idiot Comolli. He was busy doing the same damage to us before we finally fired him. I was stunned when your lot took him on.
I think the two that are criminal are Carroll for £35M - probably the worst football transfer ever... and Downing for £16-20M - about £8M too much (on current form). Henderson had the English player-tax as per usual but he has the potential to be a good squad player for years. Kenny was very wrong to play him on the right last year - really opened him up to criticism. Sturridge for approx £12M (no-one knows) is fair, whilst Allen looks very much worth his fee (although he had a rough December). Once the entire team is gelling and playing the system everyone will see Allen come into his own. He did very well covering for Lucas early in the season and was our best player until maybe late September.
Sturridge might be a very good buy for you and I can't argue with the price there, but Henderson had barely showed anything and was vastly overpriced. Allen's a good player, but I don't understand why he's not been used alongside Lucas, allowing Gerrard to play further forward and not be so bothered by tired legs. The loan for Sahin seems to have been a complete waste, too.
In fairness everyone knew Liverpool wopuld get a striker in the window and they've got themselves a decent one i'd say. They'll definitely be a strioger team as he should take a bit of pressure off Suarez
you better get some glasses and take another look at that list,if you still think that then ,you should see a doctor
you spent 50 mil on Pavlechenko, Bent and Bentley and another 50 mil on Gomes, Keane, Corluka, Bassong, Palacios and another 30 on Hutton, Soutgate and Lloris poor little well spending and underfunded Spurs is a bit of a myth
