He's in a bit of a tiff with Inter over contractual issues right now IIRC, so if he's unhappy there's a good chance he may want a move. I don't want to believe anything until I see him holding the shirt but it would make me so happy to see a player of his calibre at the club. Like when VdV signed but better if anything.

This is a Christmas day wind up, just to prove how quickly rumours can gather momentum! and King, how much brandy have you had to believe this!<ok>

Apparently, he's very good mates with VDV - they talk near enough every day. Might have something to do with it.

Well that would be enough for him to keep away from Spurs then <laugh>

In all seriousness though, he would be a top top acquisition for any Premier league team. I was half hoping we'd sign him, seeing as Gervinho has been, well . . inconsistent.

Even at twenty eight, I still think he'd be worth ten million of anybody's money. Proven player at the top level. But it does look as though it's all rumour. He'll probably end up in Spain or Germany

Probably Germany if you look at history: At one point 6 Dutch players were at Real Madrid
- Van Nistelrooij
- Sneijder
- Robben
- Van der Vaart
- Huntelaar
- Drenthe

VdV, VNistelrooij, Robben and Huntelaar all went to the Bundesliga, Drenthe... rumours of him playing at Alania in Russia <doh>
So given that most Dutch internationals end their career in Germany, I think Dortmund, Bayern, HSV or just maybe Werder Bremen.

Especially if he's been chatting to VDV.

VDV, as far as I know, has no "issues" with the club. He was allowed to leave because AVB was sure he was getting Moutinho, plus his missus was working in Hamburg, while he was here in London. If you've seen pictures of her, you can understand why he would rather be with her, than without!
As for Sneijder, yes it would be lovely if it was all true. But, I don't think anybody on here is getting too excited. If it happens, it happens.

I agree that Sylive is a big pull  But I'm pretty sure that VDV said he was always intending to go back to Hamburg. Before Arry signed him at the last minute there was a deal on the table between Madrid and Hamburg, so I think Spurs were always a stop gap for him.

I'd love to see Sjneider in the Premier League, preferably with us and not Spurs, but I don't think it's going to happen for either of our clubs. As mentioned I think he'll end up in Germany.

Now imagine a Wag sandwich of Sylvie and Yolan Cabau : Hubba Hubba :emoticon-0115-inlov

Whatever the reasons he left, and I still think it was AVB Who let him go rather than him pushing to go, he has no problem with Spurs, so it's likely that he has spoken positively about the club to Sneijder.
I agree it's unlikely, but then so was VDV coming.

We might need one of those charity ads to sign him.

For just £200k a week you can sign a top class Dutch international for Spurs

To be fair though, he had always said that he was likely to return to Hamburg. But I do agree it was quite a shock when he signed for Spurs in the first place. I was quite worried that season when you had VDV and Modric in the middle, but you still finished below us . . and now you have Huddlestone and Dembele <whistle>

Not sure. I hear Sneijders entire family are Gooners, his best mate a Blue and his agent a Hammer :emoticon-0116-evilg

To the same extent you guys used to have Henry and now have Gervinho. It's the right time of year to be thanful for small mercies, I guess.

I'm Dutch and i have never seen Sneijder showing any love for Germany, i think he'll go to England.
Many here in the country thought he would go to United but it seems that SAF has no interest in him. One Dutch guy in the team (RvP) is more than enough? :)

You never know, if United manage to shift Nani I think there's room for him. I can see him moving to City, Athletico Madrid or maybe PSG.

I'd hate to see him playing for Utd, but if there's an opportunity to sign him I think Fergie would go for it.

Must admit, when I heard this yesterday I checked to see if was Christmas Day not April 1st - but it looks like there is something too this. But probably, as has been said previously, our interest is just being used to wake up the market to his availability in January and someone will gazump us!
