We're back now. Nothing will stop us. Rafa is a genius, he's proved the critics wrong..... Okay back out of Arsenal mode now.... I think it just shows the gap in quality between the top 3 and Football League. It was a game Benitez had to win.
Poor old Leeds. What a come down from that dirty old Revie team which was a perpetual runners up in nearly everything except chopping the opposition. Some teams need several choppers in their teams namely Liverpool,Arsenal,Chelsea,Man U. No choppers,no trophies!
Real Madrid vs Man Utd should be cracking. Arsenal's should be fun too, can't see an English team making it to the quarters.
miracle needed. or an incredible amount of luck.... Unfortunately, Chelsea used up the world's supply of luck last season.
from the guardians live CL update feed: 10.47am GMT Arsenal v Bayern Munich The Germans are no Bradford but that's a tough draw all the same. quality wumming.
RM v MU...sounds more like a semi-final/final that tie! interesting, look forward to that. I now recall JM after RM's last group game saying that a group winner won't be too happy drawing Madrid....and so it would seem aye Luke!
I see Jack Wheelchair has signed a new contract so he might be able to cheer the goons on from the sidelines, that might help.
He's after a couple of new additions in January, apparently: please log in to view this image New balls, please! (Sorry, tennis fans)
The funny thing is Bayern's reaction to the draw on their official twitter page. Was it: "It will be a very tough test for us"? No "Arsenal are extremely challenging opposition?" No Instead it was #SeeYouSoonPoldi Can you imagine that? That's the sort of thing I'd expect United fans to have said last weekend when John O'Shea returned to Old Trafford. The Bayern Executive at the draw almost couldn't hide his glee at drawing Arsenal.
Not sure that Bayern should be taking Arsenal so lightly, especially when they blew so many easy chances against a team that finished below them last season... You can see why they'd be relatively happy with the draw, though. Rummenigge commented on them as if they were some lower league side in the Carling Cup: "We enter this match as the slight favourites but we can make the mistake of underestimating them". We'll beat them if we're focused, basically. Bit arrogant.
zee germans have always had a touch of arrogance about them, none other then.our own jurgen, yet look at the quality in bayern side, their midfield is outstanding so i hope their wingers destroy the goons defence.
I think Bayern will take the goons, their wingers against the goons backs,no contest, and they are probaby superior in every department
No probably about it tots. Even the more blinkered Arsenal fans would have to concede there is no area where they are as good.
Yep, they made the same mistakes against us. Although you can understand it to a degree as it was in their own backyard and they'd taken down the favourites to get there.
