Name one other club who can manage the impossible feat of uniting two sets of fans in support for a referee?
This was how he scoffed on 26 November:- Notice the cynical laugh-smilie at the end of his snide remark. Well, Chuckles, we're now ahead of you, but this is still your worst start in Thirty years! It's great to see that some things never change, eh! Seriously, though... Thanks for the laugh, old pal, and for the comedy-gift that never stops giving
It seems to be a problem for all Goons that they don't see the problem in breaking "worst start" records 2 seasons in a row so long as they're above us(temporarily as it turned out). At the start of the season their justification for not being worried about us is that they wouldn't start worse than last season which would give them an even bigger advantage to finish above us. The fact is that we've been closing the gap drastically over the past few years and if the trend continues we'll finish above them very soon. Everyone goes through a run of bad results during the season, they started last season badly whilst we finished it badly but it doesn't mean much when it happens, it's just a question of how quickly you get out of your bad run and whether you hit another slump in the season. That's why celebrating overtaking, or indeed closing the gap on opponent, during a bad run of form is premature as the Goons and Mousers have found out. Similarly we'd be foolish to read too much into being ahead of the Goons at the moment or being 3 points off Chelsea at this moment.
West Ham's chairmen have asked their fans not to behave like a load of twats tomorrow (I'm paraphrasing). That game has the potential for real embarrassment for both clubs, as Chelsea's fans all hate Rafa and there'll be a real focus on the Spammers after their idiocy against us. Should be interesting!
I'm not concentrating on the Goons because I prefer to concentrate on Spurs and the next match which is Fulham. I'm quietly confident as I am about West Ham running Chelsea close and a strong possibility that we'll be on equal points with them. I'm looking up not down so the Goons don't feature. Roll on tomorrow and Come On You Spurs. Get any win score line tomorrow,it doesn't matter and a draw won't be a disaster.
With any luck, there might be several thousand cases that prove the existence of spontaneous human combustion at Upton Park tomorrow...
Looks like West Ham's slump could well continue. I knew they'd struggle with the run of fixtures that they're in, but Allardyce should have enough know how to get them out of the rut, once they've got through the next few games, unfortunately. Us (A), Man Utd (A), Chelsea (H), Liverpool (H), West Brom (A), Everton (H) and Arsenal (A) is a tough run for anyone. It'll be interesting to see how the fans react if they don't win any of them.
I tuned in after 30 mins and they have been absolutely battering Chelsea. I don't know if I've seen chelsea have the ball in west hams half in the first 15 mins of the second half. they are hanging on blocking everything. west ham had a goal disallowed first half for nothing, too. And the ref hasn't given west ham a lot either to be honest. - every challenge he's blowing up for, when the spammers haven't done a lot wrong. They could turn this round if they keep the pressure on. ooohhh as i write this, 1-1. Fully deserved!!
Oh, dear! Coco will be praying that this doesn't last I hope that the MOTD cameraman had his camera on Mad Dog, when that one went in.
how west ham are not winning, I do not know. Jarvis forcing a good save out of cech after being put through, and then a goal line clearance from chelsea. if the spammers end up losing this, they'll feel very hard done by.
Even if the Chavs do end up getting a lucky and undeserved win, it's not going to reflect at all favourably on Coco. They have been outplayed by a team from the Championship!
