I agree that everyone is entitled to an opinion, I'd just be interested to know why you have so many opinions on Liverpool, a club I bet you know less than nothing about, apart from the bollocks spouted by the tabloids, on a Tottenham forum? Being a Watford fan and all that. Start a thread about us on your board if you like, and see how much interest it generates.
The one where they completely omitted the ball from the initial frame, so you can't tell when it's actually played? Yeah, that was great evidence.
It was very, very marginally off from what I saw, but refs are supposed to give benefit of the doubt to forwards, and couldn't possibly have been sure enough to chalk it off. Should really have stood.
Have the laws on offside changed? It always used to be that there had to be 'daylight' between the last defender and the striker I thought?
I don't think that the daylight thing was ever actually a part of the rules. I think it was a suggestion to linesmen a while ago, but it got dropped, if I remember right.
The rules are now quite clear that if any part of a player except his arms are nearer the goaline than the opponent then he is offside. I remember that this came up during a Women's tournament when someone asked if tits counted. They do (and indeed must, as if they didn't Jack Wilshere could never be given offside).
I was browsing the Mouser board, and it was refreshing to note that most Mousers believe 'Pool will lose this match. Naturally, there are one or two Mousers who cling, Lawro-like, to their old delusions, and believe 'Pool will win. Well done, Mousers! Credit to you.
MOTD2 pointed out that the CB, 2nd white shirt from the top played him on with his back foot, you can just make out his stance, his left leg is outstretched behind him. Nigh on impossible to spot at speed, but thats what they showed from one angle.
MOTD2 omitted the ball from their clip though, so you couldn't actually see when it was being played. The line in that gif appears to be drawn at the centre-half's back leg and it still looks offside, to me. Just shows how difficult a job linesmen have at times, I guess.
I did it once to help out, only helped me become a nervous wreck! fuk that, never again! and if anyone offers me a flag again, depending what mood I'm in will decide where its put!
The line that is drawn in this gif must be wrong since it goes between the legs of the CB (second from top). please log in to view this image He might still just be marginally offside.
I like all the Swansea players who haven't once looked at Enrique, suddenly all put their hands up to claim offside.
I think Shearer said something similar on MOTD2, along the lines of 'the only part of his body that's offside is his hand, and you can't score with your hand'. Unless you're Thierry Henry of course.
