That's fine mate we don't all have to agree on everything, that would be pretty dull. To clarify though, I'm not expecting him to reach the ball from the point at which the first picture shows, he would have no chance as the time between the two pictures is about a quarter of a second. That was just the first point that shows where he was standing as the free-kick was delivered as he had not moved from that position. It's just to show that from where he was standing as the free-kick came in, the ball bounced merely a yard away from that position, so in the entire two and half seconds the ball was in flight, he should have already been out and comfortably catching it. By the time the ball is in the position shown in the first picture, I believe he should already be moving towards the ball and almost already in mid air jumping to claim it. But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter either way and it's just semantics. That one moment/mistake doesn't make Boruc a bad keeper, and the Swansea and QPR games don't make Gazza a bad keeper.
Agreed, but Gazza's errors have been more clear-cut, and he has made a few of them now. Doing it once doesn't make you a bad keeper but doing it once in every match probably does... I'm not saying he's for the scrap heap or anything, he's still a bright prospect, just that it's back to the drawing board a bit. Gazza's been given his chance, he's played more games than Davis and Boruc, and he hasn't really taken it.
Gazza needs dropped or sent on loan till he gets some experience behind him and either davis or boruc need to be given a run. Davis had bad start to season but few games of playing ok he might get his confidence back or get boruc in and get the man match fit or keep looking at other goalies and hey by time your relegated you might have decided on an actual number 1
I think Nigel has decided. And it looks like he's set to disregard your advice Laura, but don't take it personally.
Laura, can I just ask what your interest in Boruc is? I think I can remember you saying your not a Celtic fan and your not a Saints fan, what's the story? Not having a go, just wondering.
100% of Laura's posts have been about Boruc. Whoever said the "b" stands for Boruc might be on the money.
I never said boruc HAD to play just that gazza isn't the answer going on last few performances. Adkins has a merry go round between the sticks going on and Southampton fans like to abuse new players. All things everyone can see. Guess Sunday will see if gazza gets another start or it's another keeper
And you call yourself a Southampton fan... I and every other Saints fan I know pride ourselves on our ability to abuse and castigate any new player. I've literally sat around the pub for hours with my mates discussing new ways to get at that useless ****er Ramirez other than the usual ****ting through his letterbox which has just gotten dull by this point.
You mean like how because of one incident combined with a history of similar incidents has made some people disapprove of Boruc? And how from one incident of a few idiots giving Boruc a hard time that all Southampton fans revel in abusing their new players?
Having the very odd situation of ending up following his career just because he played in scotland and then went to the viola which is my husbands team and as he is from Florence we regularly go there and attend viola matches
Only incident I know of re boruc and fans is of him winding up rangers fans which he wasn't doing to Southampton fans and it's a bit like u reading press stories on him and making an assumption he is this type of person and me assuming all Southampton fans abuse their new players due to way they treated him
I think you have to remember that it was a very select bunch of muppets that were giving him stick, and emotions were running pretty high. I think you have been posting on Boruc related threads on this board for long enough now to know that no one on here is condoning the idiots that were giving Boruc ****. You have to also remember that Gazza, prior to this weekend, had not made any howlers, and had seemingly earnt his place on the team sheet through merit. I also guarantee that if Adkins chooses to start Boruc this weekend, not many people will think he is a blithering idiot for doing so given the performance of Gazza last weekend. I still personally think we should stick with Gazza as he has looked pretty assured at home, this isn't because I have a personal vendetta against Boruc. Let's see what happens, but if Adkins does go with Boruc this weekend, rest assured I will be giving him my full support from the stands, as I am sure 99% of the other fans at St Mary's will. Maybe you ought to come to a game or 2, I can assure you we are on the whole a pretty good bunch!
