Gazza 6 - Flappy Clyne 8 - So Solid Fonte 7 - Didn't muck about Yoshida 8 - Read the game well Shaw 7 - Steady & calm, how I like my left backs to be Cork 8 - puts in a shift and a half Morgan 8 - covered every blade Lallana 9 - Sublime Gaston 8 - Oozes class Punchean 8 - Bit misleading with his goal and shots as didn't do much else Lambert 8 - Monstered Ferdinand
Gazza 2- Could have cost us 3 points, good distribution but that's irrelevant when you are making so many fundamental goalkeeping errors. In the first half he was outside his box with Cisse about to get onto a through ball, luckily Cisse was offside and Yoshida had of covered for him. Hoillet's goal was also terrible goalkeeping, gazza didn't come for the ball or stay on the line instead he got himself into the worst possible position. Apart from those two decisions he looked nervous for every cross and corner. He did make some saves but if they hadn't of been hit straight at him I am not confident he would have dealt with them. 2 is a harsh ranking on his overall game but what he deserves upon a dreadful goalkeeping performance. What's worse is that QPR rarely had men in the six yard box or in attacking areas. I would have Boruc back, Gazza is 20 and will improve but for me he currently looks league 1 standard and should go on loan. Clyne 9 - absolutley brilliant, love him at right back his best game. Fonte 9 - also his best game defensively, marked runners into the box expertly and can't remember him messing up. Yoshida 9 - his best game, got caught in possession but that will be ironed out of his game. Shaw 10 - incredible from a 17 year old if he was 28 I would probably give him 8.5 as it was a fantastic performance regardless, shame he didn't finish the game really but he has been ill and injured and no point wrecking him. Schneiderlin 8 - he doesn't quite look as effective at breaking up the play as at the start of the season, I think being a card away from suspension affected a few of his decisions, probably a bit generous in giving him an 8 but he didn't have a whole lot of defensive work to do but when he did it, like tracking Cisse and putting enough pressure on him to prevent a shot on target, he was very solid. Cork 9 - loved his play today looks immense, he just knows what to do for every minute of the 90, his passing was slightly off although that didn't seem to matter much as he had the players around him to do the killer pass. Lallana 10 - outstanding truly an inspiring performance largely responsible for our good moves, and did it for the whole match. Will get an england birth with more performances like that. Ramirez 8 - perhaps didn't fully fire this game but he got on the ball and drove us forward which is what we need from him. Puncheon 10 - I have been sceptical of puncheon but he was brilliant today. We needed someone to pull the trigger and he did that today along with some great passing and movement, he hit the post early from a great cross had a shot cleared off the line, a good goal and one absolute belter of a shot so could have had a hatrick perhaps as he deserved it. Lambert - 10 good goal and some fantastic knock downs and hold up play, worked well as the initial point of a counter attack and also posed a threat of his own. Though he could have shot more but he needs a bit more confidence for that I think. We played some fantastic football in bursts, and when QPR were attacking we defended pretty well. My only two complaints are Gazza needs to be dropped on that performance and that our midfield doesn't always have a solid defensive shape. Boruc can come in for Gazza although I think the midfield has improved considerably although still needs some more cohesion and more determination to shut down the opposition quicker.
Think CBK has got it to be honest. I'm going for the same as him, bar one change, give Jason a 9 too.
Ridiculous comment. He was very lucky that all his faults earned him his first full England call-up then!!?
How to make friends and influence people... Honestly; I think Lallana is a good player but I do think that some fans seem to hype him up as the next Le Tissier and I just don't see that. However, your description of him is so far off the mark. Finally, IMHO I think Morgan will develop into a better player than Lallana over the next few seasons.
Gazzaniga - 5 Clyne - 7 Yoshida - 6 Fonte - 7 Shaw - 7 Puncheon - 7 Schneiderlin - 6 Cork - 7 Lallana - 7 Ramirez - 6 Is he really worth 12m? Lambert - 8 MOM Davis - 7 Fox - N/A Rodriguez - N/A
Chuffed to bits with today great supports from the saints.... Lambert MOM because qpr couldnt handle him. Puncheon a close sencond. A rgeat move by NA to put SD on and take Ramirez off it sorted the midfield out and eased the pressure closed the space. Bit conecerned that GR is not worth the 12m paid. He misplaced and miscontrolled an awful lot if Guly had done the same he would be hounded out of west london...
QPR were poor today we would have been very disappointed not to have won. Despite paying 12m for Gaston I have yet to see anything from him that has justified his price tag. If Guly made similar mistakes i.e poor passing, terrible controla and a lazy attutude towards tracking back he would be absolutely crucified.
I would say 12 million will be money very well spent. The first 15 minutes today he was trying to be smart and it never came off, but for the remainder of the half he just played a more simple game, moving across the line, changing sides with Lallana and Punch and he was much more effective. He has only played 5 games for us, different style of football to get used to and has not let anybody down
Thought we were great today, especially Lambert, Lallana, Puncheon and Clyne. However, feel mean leaving anyone out...Yoshida looked good and forced a save out of the keeper with a scissor kick. Cork is fantastic after a long lay off....is he the one who has made the difference? Ramirez has a monkey on his back with his price tag, but just needs time and our patience. He is our type of player and just needs to get used to English football. He takes good shots at goal and won't be long before he gets the second goal for us. The defence is gelling and getting better. GK remains a problem...Gazza looks shaky...does he get given more time...is he changed for Boruc or SKD. Over to you, Nigel. Man of the match for me was Puncheon, but wouldn't argue against Lambert, Lallana, Clybe etc.
Gazza - 5 he is young playing in a team shipping goals for fun - he will improve as he gains confidence. Clyne - 8 looks the real deal Yoshida - 7 Solid Fonte. - 8 won a lot of important headers Shaw - 9 class act. Cool calm composed. Puncheon - 8 Very good game for Punch however I thought he was a bit wasteful. Great goal but lots of shots wide when he had better options. He also lost the ball a few times in promising attacks. He was involved in a lot but QPR made him look good as much as he was good. Schneiderlin - 8 he's what kept us ticking. Cork - 8. Collects the ball from defence. Great passer and has definitely made a big difference. Lallana - 9 ran rings around them. Kept Bosingwa going backwards and not forwards. He is not in the team to be defensive, he's in the team to be creative. Luke Shaw can handle that where as Fox can't. Ramirez - 7 tried to be a bit too clever but finding his feet in the premier league. His positional sense going forward was excellent. He creates space around him for others to exploit. Lambert - 7. He was the usual dependable Rickie but he is a little frustrating as he often drifts out wide and leaves us with no target in the box. There were several occasions where we crossed into perfect positions with nobody there. His hold up play is very good and he linked up with Lallana especially well.
89% passing = poor? But then, Guly has 90.4% passing this season and idiot fans still maintain he's the antichrist so it only makes sense you think 89% is poor
