Just because the last 3 seasons have been good for Spurs doesn't mean football was invented 3 years ago, you lads wear your recent Champions League qualification like a badge of honour which is fair enough but only when you actually win it or reach a final will you have bragging rights.
I see you managed to give excuses as to why Spurs were crap for so long(Sugar etc)but you airbrushed our problems over the last 3 seasons out, 4 managers, club almost going bankrupt, influential players leaving etc, but whichever way you dress it up your club is trying to emulate the success that our club has enjoyed and flattering as that may be you lads on here should embrace it instead of abuse it.![]()
It might also be because we're one of the best supported teams in the world, still, and people listen/watch to hear about such teams.
I see HIAG still hasn't replied to my comment![]()

I'm sure you've all seen the headlines, this morning?
I despair, I truly do.
How are we to help the Mousers deliver themselves from their delusions if Roy Rodgers is going to fill their heads with this kind of nonsense?
Don't let facts get in the way of your drivel.
The only comparison made between Suarez and Messi is that they both play the false 9 role.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers believes Liverpool can still attract world-class players to Anfield. "This football club and its history will always attract top players. There is a real mystique and feel about playing for Liverpool," he said.

He did also call him world class.
What Rodgers actually said wasn't that bad, but it was very naive. If you make a comparison like that, then you should know how the press are going to run with it.
Might not be a great idea to continually big him up either, as it may encourage other teams to come in for him. He's the only one scoring for you and he's not Champions League tied. A January move could be devastating.
I think this is a real problem for Rodgers and was an issue suffered by AVB at Chelsea last season. When you take over a club of that stature every comment you make will be constantly analysed and, where the papers fancy doing it, thrown back in your face for ridicule purposes. At previous clubs he really wasn't in the spotlight that much so I am not sure he's necessarily used to it yet - must be a massive culture shock.
As you say, there's nothing wrong about calling Suarez world class but you can see the headlines a mile off. Better to have just stiuuck to the "he's unplayable right now" line.
What comment? I didn't see anything that required a reply from me.

I really wouldn't say Suarez is a world class player - just like 90% of the other players referred to as "world class" as the term becomes ever more meaningless.
When he wants to play, rather than dive and rile up opposing players or fans or managers, he can be very good - but apparently being a very good player isn't enough these days, they all have to be compared to Messi, Xavi et al, which pretty much tells you they aren't world class players as they aren't being judged on their own merits like Messi, Xavi et al are.
You'd think Rodgers would know better, though - he's been with Chelsea to get a certain amount of insider knowledge on the culture differences, plus he isn't a complete outsider to the English media (sorry, game...) so he should know you give journalists as little rope as possible (unless your name is alex Ferguson, who has a free pass to say as much drivel as he likes)

I see you're now taking the Messi comment out of context. I hope you're deliberately misinterpreting it... the alternative would be frightening.
That is the only stat you listed that is relevant. Titles won since 1989: 0
That lost of stats doesn't mention that, since 1989, three dominant powers have surpassed Liverpool in the Premier League - Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea (Man City could become a fourth, but not yet) or that Liverpool have failed to stay ahead of the chasing pack and have not so much lost ground to Spurs, Everton or Newcastle, but fallen behind them.

Top players... like Joe Allen and... erm... that fella from Holland, and... oh, Borini! All dead certs for 'next year's' Ballon d'Or
HIAG, if you actually read the replies to the thread you mention above, you'll see that the vast majority if us realise we have very little, if no chance of fourth.
But of course that doesn't suit your WUM agenda, does it?
