Calling someone black isn't racist, its a description. To add f***ing and c*** to it, does make it racist, as would monkey impressions like the Chav fan just did. Discriminating someone about being black, not just describing. Calling someone spanish isn't, but to put them down as a fat spanish waiter I think discriminates the person, as is drunken scottish red nose **** or whatever gets said. Decribing Rooney as fat is ok, but to then put him down because of it, like many chants he recieved isn't ok.
Despite saying all this, direct racism from colour seems to be the only thing focused on.
This is what I find wrong though. There may be a different description of both words, but why is insulting someone because of how they look (colour), worse to how they look (bold, fat or ugly)? Insulting someone is insulting someone, how ever it is done.

The FA allowed themselves to be guided by a 3 man independant panel lead by a QC who wrote a 115 page conclusion to their enquiry.
The conclusion being, that Suarez admitted using a term that was racially motivated & that did so more than once.
Once he admitted to using the word then he was guilty anyway, if he'd have denied ever saying it, he'd have got off.
Seriously, go up to a black guy this weekend and call him blackie. Then maybe you'll understand that it's offensive. It will be a painful lesson but will help bring you up to speed with civilised society.

So in a nutshell. The FA threw the book at Suarez over a mix up in translation. Is that what you're saying? Suarez would be guilty as sin if he said when Evra asked him ''Why did you kick me'' and Suarez said ''Because you are black'', well that is discriminating and suggesting that black people are 2nd class citizens.
However the evidence to suggest that Suarez actually did actually use the word ''because'' is not reliable. The evidence suggests he used the word ''Why'' which isn't discriminating.
The FA should have concentrated less on one word against the other and more on context and translation. In my opinion, they took a rather lazy approach.
Not talking about the difference talking about people now throwing the word Racism beacuase of the wrong things. It is one of the problems with this now is that people go looking for it and are now making things up. It is not racism if you don't give me a job because I am American, it is discrimination. But seeing calling SAF a Scottish **** or Benitez a fat spanish waiter, it is not racism, it is discrimination.
Not really wanting to get into it as this has been done over and over. Just think some need to get to grips with what is considered Racism and what is discrimination. Both are wrong and both have no place in the sport.

There is a huge difference between racism and discrimination. Racism involves colour, disrimination involves everything else i.e. gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality etc.. Calling someone a ''white bastard'' is unheard of.
Calling Fergie a ''Scottish ****'' isn't either racist or discrimination, not allowing him to something because he is Scottish would be discrimination. Its like in the 70s 80s, the English calling Irish people ''stupid paddys'' isn't discrimination, but not allowing them to work in England was. Therefore discrimination is based on actions..not words.
