At the beginning of last season, you deservedly hammered us in the first game of the season, and went on to hammer the league. You deserved it then, but tonight was our night. God knows how we did it, but it's a funny old game.

Hopefully it may give us a lift for our dire league performances
 
Terrible. The charasmatic Robbie Fowler was watching the game on SSN, and said, I have nothing good to say about Southampton!

3-0 now as I speak.

I can only assume that we don't want to be involved in this competition. Not that any cup competitions get respected any more.
 
3-0 loss to Leeds is embarrasing, something really needs to change, to be honest, i hope it Nigel. Its gone too far now, im even getting bored of his pre and post match interviews, same old ****e every week now.

I hate to say it but i'm finally starting to agree. Adkins just isn't doing himself any favours,a club's supporters need to see wins to keep their faith, it doesn't matter what competition it's in. The rot of losing is starting to set in.
 
Its just not good enough. Team selection, tactics, substitutions. They just don't stand up against any scrutiny this season. I really want Nigel to do well but it maybe a step too far at this stage in his career. On our journey from league one to now some players have played pivitol parts in getting us here but were not given the chance in the PL as they weren't good enough, sadly that maybe the same with Nigel.
 
My loyalty for Adkins has well and truly gone now. I would not complain if he was sacked tomorrow to be honest. He's lost the plot tonight. No thought whatsoever for the fans who travelled. 4-4 at Reading now.
 
The team was considerably weaker than the one we sent there last year, the result is not surprising and there's clearly no pressure on Adkins to do anything in this competition.

Drawing any conclusions from this game would be a pretty pointless exercise in my opinion.

Embarrassing? Not really, we beat Everton in the last round and they're far better than saints.
 
Ergh long trip back for me, this just shows how lacking in depth we are. Can't be arsed to say any more.

Why send a team that will lose you send a team to win .
