Adkins shouldn't let that happen, this isn't Crosby's fault, and pretty harsh to let him try to explain it.
You need to put this into more perspective. Yes managers who make so many changes at this stage of the cup deserve all they get. But you've come such a long way in a short space of time and most of your players are having to learn fast. Having Ramirez out won't help but take heart that there are other poor teams down there and some who have spent far more than you. Give Adkins a chance he deserves this. All the best for the season and thanks for all the congrats.
Not one shot on target so I am told , Merrington calling it the worst display he has seen from Saints , great just ****ing great .
Everton should be even more embarrassed then! I don't think it is embarrassing to lose to Leeds, but to lose in that fashion is embarrassing. I try not to sell other teams short, but it's hard to read that match as anything other than an abominable performance from us. Leeds might be quite a good side, but they didn't have to be tonight. Good luck in the next round.
Beyond crap from Saints; not much to add to what's been said really. Best of luck to Leeds for the next round(s)
Feel sorry for anyone that travelled to watch another typical (for this season) saints performance. Focus on the league now I guess
Nowhere near good enough. What was the point of tonight! By playing that team of second rate championship players we set ourselves up for a loss and morale will be lower. Pointless...
Oh come on, I dont think we needed this, tonight we were very poor. The League is what really matters, Im waiting untill April/May to decide if NA should go. Hopefully NA has made enough mistakes to start learning.
I really can't see the point in sending a weakened team up to a Championship side when you then have 6 days to rest your players before the next game. As a Leeds fan, obviously I'm pleased, but I think it shows a lack of respect for the Saints fans who travelled a very long way and what does that do for team morale? This competition would be one that Saints could have done well in - and let's not forget that even if one of the big clubs wins it, they will be in the CL, so the runner up gets the Uefa League spot out of it. Winning boosts morale, getting a 3-0 kicking to a team from the division below, no matter how weak a team you put out, is bad business psychologically.
Of course when I said Robbie Fowler was charismatic, I was being sarcastic. He's ****ing awful on any commentary I've ever seen. Saying this, it doesn't chnage the fact that his observation was correct, we were ****.
On a serious note, who does think Nigel will be gone if we lose on Monday?. we will have reached the illusive 10 game point by then (the ammount of time most people condsider to be enough for a manager to have a chance)
I'm afraid I agree. Saints selling tickets for that game was taking money under false pretences that we were sending a football team to Leeds. I feel for anyone who travelled up for that.
And once again we play a team with no defensive midfielder... and we wonder how its so bloody easy for teams to get to the edge of our area everytime they go forward? Actually "we" don't wonder at all. Been so obvious to me since start of the season. We farm out a natural leader like Hammond and expect kids to fill his boots. I honestly don't think that was a decision of Adkins making. Feels like a Cortese one to me.
