It shows in January we need a massive cleanout, apart from the youth players only Davis, Mayuka, Lee, Jos and Guly should be kept. Its hard for the youngsters to impress when they are surrounded by **** and players playing out of position. I said to play our first team- we need a win, show the cup and the supporters some ****ing respect.
Our fixtures in Oct/Nov are where we should be picking up enough points to get us out of trouble, its not happening. We need at least 4 points from the next 2 games or I think he will be gone. Reading now 4-5 down thats gotta be a bitter pill to swallow and rectify for the next game.
No it wasn't. Anyone with half a brain could see we would play a weakened team. Plus its absolute bollocks all this talk about "players & club should refund the fans". If you go to a game, you run the risk of a thrashing and a **** day out and getting home at 4am etc etc. Its what being a real fan is all about. You take the rough with the smooth, or don't bother going. I swear some on here would call "Claims Direct" to sue the club after a **** result. Thats modern fans for you.
Sorry I'm not with you, are you really saying get rid of Lambert, Lallana, Rodrigez, Ramirez, and Schneiderlin?
I think he will be given until the end of November. If we come through that without significant improvement then he has to make way. Whoever comes in needs to be here in time to assess the squad and identify his targets before January, or it's almost pointless changing.
You're right about the def midfielder position. So much time and space given to Tom Huddlestone on Sunday made him look like a world beater. In fact Saints have made lots of mediocre players look like Barcelona transfer targets this season. Gervhinio at Arsenal springs to mind.... Not sure Dean Hammond would be the answer though!
Well, I didn't see a ball kicked myself, but by all accounts we were woeful. Can't say that I am at all bothered as thethat cup is not my priority. I understand the frustration of those who travelled up, but Nigel can't win really. If he plays Lambert in a game like this and he gets injured, then he is a fool. If he plays the youth in a EPL game, he is gambling with inexperienced players. Looking at the team, I wasn't expecting much tonight and didn't get it. Anyway, remember the last time we were at Elland Rd with a full strength squad? But for Kelvin we would have been stuffed.
Really annoyed with the way we lost, but I'm still in the 'back Adkins' camp. please log in to view this image The man DESERVES loyalty from the fans.
Adkins always plays weakened sides in the cup (remember Man U last season). It is infuriating but I dont thi.k it tells us mutch about Adkins' ability,we will judge that during our league games next month. Come on Saints dont let me down;never give up hope.
It was a silly and an embarassing game, and an oppurtunity missed, Leeds are not a bad team and by no means would it have been a stroll in the park if we put some first teamers out there, but it would still have a good oppurtunity for a win and for a clean sheet regardless. The scoreline is embarassing and so is the lack of intent and manner of defeat, but by no means is it the end of the world or as dreadful as some people make out. Away at West Brom will not be an easy game, they've won 4 out of 5 there and their only loss at home has come to City, a point would be good and achievable if we have a good game, but a win is unlikely and a loss would not be a terrible result with West Brom in this form, and would certainly not be any reason to trigger the departure of Adkins. I don't want to see Adkins go full stop, but at the very least he should be given through November to have had a fair go.
In November we have a number of what are now, pretty much, must win games. I dont think he'll get the chance to manage the team through them. However far up Nigels arse people want to get, 4 points from 9 games is woeful even for a promoted team. You cant even blame our "tough" start after we pissed it up against west ham, fulham and Wigan.
Well it seems that Nigel has come out to face the press, not Crosby as per most post-match cup games nowadays.
If saints cant get a single shot at goal and get hammered by a lower league team then the table is telling the truth and saints will struggle to get enough points to stay up this season. the excuse of second rate players is a poor one... they are premiership and saints squad players that can be picked at any time.....you look poor tonight just like you look poor 90% of the time in the premiership...Nigel had better get his coaching skills up to scratch or it will be back to the lower leagues next season.....very poor for a suppose premiership club whoever is chosen to play....
