maybe a few for him is 26. my honest opinion is that to stay in this league we are going to need to buy experienced premier league players and in jan that doesn't come cheap. I'm guessing 15-20 mill for 3 or 4 defenders. Then they have to be amazing from game 1 and we still need our attackers to be scoring at the same rate they are. In summary a lot of money a lot of luck and pray to good that teams around us stop beating teams like arsenal.
Could not agree more , many others as you well know disagree , they believe the transfer window was a success , Adkins picks the team and formations , Cortese just does the banking and may have a hand in one or two small matters of signings but nothing big , Ramirez the signing smells of one big insider job .

We don't need 3-4 defenders. You are now going to extremes the other way. That as a little drama queen like. We need a very good CB and a left back, in terms of defenders.

I'm not saying 3 or 4 starters. But if we just buy 1 lb and 1 cb that leaves no room for injuries or suspensions. As what we have have proved no where near good enough.

That's my point, I think that you and a couple of others have written them off too easily. Fonte and Yoshida when playing together at CB have done ok. They may not be the best, but they are certainly not terrible as described on here. Play Yoshida at fullback, then I agree he is bad, but as CB he is ok. So, I say sign one really good CB and you have either Fonte or Yoshida as his partner, the other as back up. At left back, Fox's last two games (Spurs and Fulham) he has also been ok, so again he will be ok as back up to a good LB.

I get what your saying. And it all depends on how we do from now till jan. just saying on what I've seen so far we are far from ok at the back.

I've not heard anything. What's the situation with squad numbers. Do you submit a new squad in jan or if you've used all 25 spots or do you have to sell someone from that 25 before you can bring a new player in

Squads are re-submitted in February as far as i know, i expect the rif-raf to be excuded at that point i.e Seaborne, dickson, De ridder etc

Did you see those two goals yesterday ? I still think Yoshida was trying to get down and boogie whilst Clyne was playing musical statues to Yoshidas funk.........................

I've already posted that you are 100% right about Clyne and the Bale goal. I need to re see the second goal, but surely you are not on about Yoshida slipping up. I mean, how dare a player slip: shoot him.

Look at his footwork , I dont think he knew what he was doing , and when he did finally clear it it went straight to Dempsey , it was comical .

Well his Waltz was not too bad but in the 2nd half his Tango was out of this World <laugh>

Just when I was enjoying a decent discussion with you. Perhaps you just daren't say something that sounds too amicable towards the team, once you've already berated them.

I'm off to bed, I've actually enjoyed most of our discussions tonight; thanks.

To answer your question the denfence was fine in the 2nd half for two reasons

1) We played a higher line .
2) We were losing and had to take the game to Spurs who were happy in the main to sit back as they had a 2 goal advantage .

Mikael Silvestre?

He's a free agent and I think he has still got it. I don't think wages are going to be a worry and is training with Man U.
