    Warnock. <doh>

Will he apologise to Kirkland after he watches the replay? Doubt it.

There have been times that I've felt sorry for Warnock and times where he's genuinly come across as a nice guy but it's never long until you're reminded that he's a total arsehole.

It'll be interesting to see how the FA react to the fan incident, surely they've got to be given at least a suspended punishment and heavily fined.

A friend of mine was his club captain at Plymouth in the mid-nineties and to this day will not have a word said against Warnock. As a consequence I have always preferred to see the good side to him, because I believe there is one.

However, his not very subtle scheming in the infamous "Brammall Lane affair" when he tried to get a game abandoned by encouraging more of his players to get sent off and thereby reduce his side to less than the required 7 players, remains evidence he is capabale of being a complete twat.

Also, quite how a man can call another man a "sewer rat" and then a couple of years later, sign that same man defies all sense of logic and stinks of double standards and hypocrisy.

Just watched the Spurs utd game - thanks again to SD for the heads up <cheers>

it was the 79 game rather than the 80 one - but what a game - and some things never change

we had a perfectly good goal by Jones disallowed for pushing Bailey, when he clearly doesn't touch him, and then Ardiles is sent flying in the area - clear, certain penalty - the ref doesn't give it - the sort of penalty Liverpool Utd would be routinely given at their ground in those days

unbelievable, but actually all too believable

still what a game - lovely nutmeg by Hodd and later a rare fierce challenge from him (in those days), and a beautiful flick after he's dispossessed the aggrieved Greenhoff

so many memories that programme brought back - when the Cup was King and meant so much

had to laugh about the pitch being complimented for being in such a good state, it was for then, it'd be seen as a mudheap now

and the atmosphere - you could really feel it - those were the days indeed - such a shame the game had already been blighted by hooliganism, and would be ruined further still to usher in the sanitised Prem experience - which is great in its own way - but lacks the bite of those days from another world.

Just in case anyone missed it, Edgar Davids made his first start for Barnet last night.
Having previously drawn 3 and lost 9, they won 4-0.

Good to see him earning his stripes at Barnet. He was always a class act as a player (unless you were on the other end of one of his crunching tackles...), and if he wants to work his way into management rather than get offered a job based on his name instead of his ability *cough*Maradona*cough*Shearer*cough* and I hope he does well.

It's 8 years today that we lost Bill Nicholson.
R.I.P to a true Spurs legend.

When we finally do build our new stadium, there's one man that needs to be remembered, first and foremost.
The embodiment of Tottenham as a club. RIP.

One would like to think there will be a statue or a stand named after the great man. I have never felt that Bill Nicholson Way does the man justice as the "road" (approach to the main entrance), is no more than about 20 yards long.

To be honest I thought the whole training complex was referred to as Bill Nicholson Way. Always thought the sign would be better with "The" at the start, they missed a trick there.

We had the anniversary of MH yesterday so can imagine how older Spurs fans must feel.

The old training ground was referred to as Spurs Lodge and was in Luxborough Lane and the new one is Hotspur Way.

Bill Nicholson Way is the short road from off the High Road to the main gates of the stadium.

Matthew Harding. Ken Bates hated him, so he must've been a decent bloke.

Oh yeah that's it, silly me. I agree a small bit of road is no kind of tribute, it's one of those where in someways it's better not to do anything than name something so minor after him.

The one good thing to come from it was Santini's indifference to it was directly responsible for him being sacked - which meant Levy followed Arnesen's intial recommendation and installed Jol as manager.
