Hard to know what to make of these. It could be that this is something that happened weeks ago but has now been sorted out. But if it's still going on then it needs to be sorted out quickly. If the players and manager don't get on then either the players concerned or the manager is going to end up leaving. But if the senior players are Tate and Monk, then it's not such an issue because they aren't really part of the plans. So it would help to know which players are involved. And is it just 2 or 3, or more? That it's all been done in secret is a huge worry though. Why don't the players just discuss with the manager? Or maybe they have and he won't listen. Maybe they are used to one way of playing and don't want to change. It's the same in any job - a new manager comes along with a different way of working and you just have to adapt or leave. But we need a lot more info before we can judge what's going on. Can't see him being sacked, as that will involve heaps of compensation. Can't see him walking either, unless he gets Huw's blessing and it ends up as a mutual thing. If he walks out after a few months at his first Premiership club it will look like he can't handle the pressure. If he can't handle at Swansea then he has no chance of handling it at a big club where players can be more difficult to handle. I wonder what Huw thinks. He's probably on the phone to Graeme Jones. Or maybe he's hoping BR gets sacked before Xmas and then he can tempt him back. But it would split Swans fans. But the club comes first. Will be interesting to see how this develops. It's certainly not good it being mentioned in the national press. But I suppose that comes with us having a high-profile manager.
I can actually see him walking, he doesnt need the hassle and doesnt need to have to listen to players that have won **** all in their careers ..if the stories are true of course It would also split the dressing room right down the middle, that is a recipe for trouble!! if Laudrup leaves then we have at least 5/6 players that are here only because of him!! which ever way you slice it the club and fans lose out...if the story is true !! This is the most crucial season in the clubs history and if the old gaurd players bring the club down they will never be forgiven by the Jack Army..ever !! Im hoping this is old news rehashed, i also read on planet swans that the fittness guy that left us to go to liverpool is hte prime candidate for the story as he was apparently known for being bit of a mouth!! reason? Laudrup bringing in somebody over his head. The other names being mentioned are the senior players who have been told they are not part of his plans, Monk ,Tate, Gower spring to mind. Hope its all Bollocks, they didnt look like they didnt want to play for the manager second half against reading !
The not so secret, secret meetings!!! There was at least 1 or 2 threads on about this at the start of the season. Ivor - nail on the head, top post & Norway as well. If there`s anything in it, it`s got to be Monk & Tate behind it. They are now surplus to requirements, to a certain extent, if you`re not happy feck off, along with anyone else who`s not happy with getting a shedful of money for doing their job, sometimes not very well. A great footballer does`nt neccessarily make a great manasger, but if he`s trying to impart his knowledge to them and they can`t buy into it, or don`t want to, then get the feck out. Big heads & big egos come to mind for these big time Charlies. Going crying to the headmaster because the teacher is asking you to do stuff you don`t like, or can`t do. Get out there and do the job you`re paid to do, and stop whinging like little cry babies. Having said that it`s probably rubbish.
http://thepremierleagueowl.com/doub...campaign=doubting-the-reported-swansea-mutiny Lets try a more balanced approach before the hanging judge comes to town
Good post. By many on this board often want to hang people that are innocent. So let's make sure that doesn't happen to any of the players. Speculating can lead to certain players being target, and mud sticks, even if the accusations are true. It's funny that despite most fans claiming not to believe the press, they actual act as if they really believe the press. If this is much ado about nothing, then just ignore the story for now.
Echo Ivor's comments. This may be a lazy reporter blowing hard on some rumors or whatever from the August timeframe. Regardless, there is a chain of command in any business, there is one in a football club too. Curtis is there for many reasons, and one of them I believe is to act as an interface to ML in case things are misinterpreted through translation and for this very purpose as a connection to the players. Curtis has been around a long time, been there done that and is far more a Mr. Jack (IMO) than the band of rebels, whoever they may be. If the players have a gripe then there is a channel and Curtis is savvy and professional enough to separate **** from shinola and raise the issue with ML if it merits. If players have gone directly to HJ then this is a major disrespect to ML, Curt and the entire back room staff. It places HJ in an impossible situation and one he only has one option on an that's to clear out the malcontents and recalibrate the rest of the squad as to how things are done at the club. If this is not done, our next manager will not be one of the top guns we need to carry us forward, it would only be a tired out of work journey man with old ideas, habits and desperate for a job. Quite frankly it makes no sense. We have not been a first half only team, running out of steam at half time. We are a **** first half team, and have played our best football in the second half - higher tempo , better quality. If we had fitness issues this would not be happening. Clearly, something is wrong and it's not our fitness levels.
If these players who are allegedly unhappy with ML ain't prepared to learn from one of the all time greats of football then the club should sell them whoever they are. What we are desperate for is a decent centre half to play alongside chico.
Is that observation made based on our current centre half's performances or the current rumours about who maybe the sauce (yes I know that is the incorrect spelling) of the unrest
The observation is made on his current performances. The lack of strength in depth in defence is a worry. Just a shame that young kyle bartley got injured. Think AW could do with a few games on the bench to 'wise' him up a little. Made a few costly errors last season as well which could have cost us a few crucial points.
Is Laudrup facing player revolt ? from back office sources, a resounding no. DailyMail reports appear to be instigated by a reporter named Tim Lewis who asked these questions during the latest 'Bear Pit', sort of a telephone press conference. Usually these occur when there are issues needing answers or if club wants to get a story out to the media. They are normal schedule of once a month Story appears to have been instigated by a reporter named Tim Lewis During the latest pit with press officer and senior management (don't know who) and ML, Lewis asked. 1. Defense has been awful, Is ML likely to change anything in training to take the pressure off them as they can't play their way from the back this year. Will you change the style of your play to counter this weakness and is this why Vorm is kicking a lot this term? Answer 'Our defense has had to endure disruption through injury and suspension so far this season and will take a little time to reorganize but this will happen' Answer from ML "Our training will change from week to week depending on what we have to work on but our philosophy remains the same and we will not change. Obviously things are different to before, we are a different team but the philosophy remains the same. 2. Players can't be happy with the way things are going under the new manager. Answer from HJ - FULL RESPONSE WAS 'No players is happy to lose but they know they can improve things both on the pitch and in training. WE'VE HAD MEETINGS with the senior players TO DISCUSS HOW WE CAN IMPROVE. They are not used to this scenario...." (not winning for last 5 games I think he meant here)....."As with any change in manager, particularly at a club who have been successful, it will take time to settle down......and Michael and the new players are still settling in" 3. Senior players are unhappy then Answer ML "We are all unhappy" (again referring to the non winning streak I think) It would appear that todays bull report was seeded by this snippet from this scheduled press meeting. There has been no contact between the mail, Walesonline etc etc and the Swans since Mondays bear pit and very little before as the Mail and associated publications have little contact with the Swans. You will also see that there are no attributable quotes in the article other than the one taken out of context. Time to relax, Wales(Cardiff)Online will take negative stance towards us. No other report has come out from any other Newspaper, including those involved in Modays press conference substantiating this bogus report. The lazy vultures are circling looking but can't find any bones to pick so are making it up as they go along.
So a series of secret meetings have taken place with the players and chairman regarding Laudrups methods!! ****ing hell thats all we need ! The players are said to be unhappy about his coaching methods and fitness training and have Guys I told you all this weeks ago and had my head chewed off....I told you what they were saying down at the liberty when i visited my old mates still working there, Perhaps you should not dismiss some of the concerns i hear about and inform you so quickly next time........I get to hear some things about the club that i dare not mention on here because of the rubbish i get and now keep my information between myself and close friends....
dont be so dismissive .I know for a fact that the players were not happy with laudrups way of running things and i told you all weeks ago. Im so glad that it has been reported to prove again i was right at the time.....Now all i see is made up stories that its tates fault or monks fault or anyone else's fault......What rubbish its down to laudrup and his methods and thats it.......Listen to people who can find out and is very close to the club and stop making things up......
What players? Half the start 11 has been bought by Laudrup and most of them know him and his methods beforehand. Vorm just signed a new contract saying "good things are happening in Swansea" and Davies can hardly be complaining. So who are these players complaining? The ones not playing? Go figure.
