The Police can't win here, a few idiot fans cause trouble and the Police get the blame. We were supposed to be there supporting our team for a good day out not turning up to hear morons intent on causing trouble. Can't understand the logic here.
Same, I didn't go into the concourse at half time but judging by the video posted and the attitude of the culprits (I was more or less right behind them) I'm 100% certain these Pollocks went looking for trouble and started it not the other way round. I know recent events have put SYP in a bad light but in reality I seriously doubt any of the officers on duty were involved on that fateful day and even more doubtful that any of them had a clue about the cover up or what actually went on. IMO its like us having a go at the Allams and Bruce because brown and duffen wasted so much on ****e that never played, specially that crock jimmy bullshit. It's just immature and unnecessary pathetic behaviour.
" We were supposed to be there supporting our team for a good day out not turning up to hear morons intent on causing trouble" Nail - Head - Hit.
Have SYP ever been seen in a good light? Suppose Sheff Utd and Sheff Wed never used to come to Hull looking for trouble in the 70's & 80's then?
Hated Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United fans in the 70s .. BUT attacking the police for events from the past is pathetic... Only excuse for bovver nowadays is IF rival fans attack you then fine, thump them back..
I can't say I saw the half time stuff happen, was this in the upper or lower concourse? I came in about 5 or 10 mins before kick off and it was packed in the concourse then, it was getting a little rowdy with someone fizzing up a bottle and spraying it over everyone then.
There wasn't a lower concourse, we were all upstairs. I didn't go in at half time, due to the 'no beer served after kick-off' signs, though on reflection, they probably just meant no beer while the game is on.
They'd all been thrown at the coppers, apparently. Either that or Tickler ate them all, following a disappointing visit to the KFC, who've now had their Tickler 3 star rating removed.
Agreed. I saw nothing apart from the flares in relation to violence. As for the pies I did not bother. KFC was good after the game. I was and I did. Nothing else. Good day out actually.
So according to that report a few Hull fans were winding the Police up and a few chicken and mushroom pies messed up a few uniforms, so the police respond by baton charging them and anyone else who gets in their way on a overcrowded concourse at the ground that hosted the worst ever football tragedy?. It seems to me that the present day SYP are no different then 'yesterdays' SYP.
They're not really doing themselves any favours. There's no good reason for a load of coppers being on a concourse anyway, we're hardly likely to start a ruck with ourselves.
I can well believe that B2W, experienced similar on numerous occasions, imagine the carnage that they could cause if they were to have a drink beforehand.
