He doesn't have to accept or settle for it but being gracious in defeat should be a given for someone of his stature and age. He's not 5 years old.

Attention to dodgy penalties last week may have had something to do with United not getting one this week. I don't know why you are banging on about this. He showed very poor sportsmanship after the game and Utd fans should be embarrassed about his petulence rather than drawing attentiom to it by making excuses. Redknapp was always class after a loss (AVB's only had one so far, so can't compare ) and that was a trait I liked, even though you could see how much it hurt to lose.
Ferguson did what he always does. He distracted from his players failing to win a game, he gave the media something else to talk about and he put pressure on the match officials for any future trips to Old Trafford. If he was really pissed off, then we'd have seen Phelan spouting platitudes and Old Red Nose would've been blasting the **** out of his squad in the dressing room. Marcello Lippi has won 13 trophies and a World Cup in his career, and he's never thrown his toys out of the pram when he lost. Sam Allardyce has only won the League of Ireland and the Third Division, but he throws the toys out of his pram and makes wild accusations about opposition players and officials when he loses. I would say Fergie has won all those trophies by buying up everyones top players.I often wondered where United got all the money........They also had/have some of the dirtiest players.In some cases making the Revie Leeds teams look like choir boys.
