That's the jinx finally broken and now things should be more even between us. They will never go on a run like that against us again and we have some catching up to do. Bloody well done my Spurs,I effing well love you. Why we should feel this way after beating a team is beyond me but they had become such pariahs for us and we thought at one time that we couldn't beat them. Well,it was close so I'm looking at our next match. That's one defeat in eight now and at the mo I'm eating a bit of humble pie. I did post that I had a glimmer of hope and now I'm feeling a lot more confident. Well done AVB,I said I was happy with your start and now I'm bloody delirious. The Spurs go marching on. As we say in the insurance business"Past performance is no guarantee for the future." Hee heee heee.

  2. The United posters seem magnanimous in defeat, which is greatly appreciated. That shows class, sadly usually missing in the Chavs, Gooners, and (particularly) Mousers who post on here, when we beat them. Thanks for that, guys.

I've got to say, that United completely ripped us a new one during that second half. There was so much pride at stake for them, and it showed in how they completely and utterly dominated us. In all honesty, I think had either of the two penalty shouts been awarded it would have been harsh on us, and easy on United, and I'm betting that past refereeing howlers finally caught up with Fergie, as Mr Hoy would have been keen not to be seen as simply one more of Fergie's bitches.

It was a fantastic game, probably the best so far of the season.

For us, I hope we can move forward with confidence from this, and believe that we can, now, beat any team, any where. The greatest thing that AVB has to guard against, I suspect, is complacency, which is something that has dogged us in the past.

  4. For all of us who doubted AVB's appointment, the one thing that none of us will ever be able to take away from him is the fact that he was the first Spurs manager in 23 years to beat United at OT.

You could see the delight in his face, and I am sure that the significance of this moment will not be lost on him.

As a Spurs fan, I can only hope that he will use this momentous and historic moment as a platform to propel our great club to the heights that Levy obviously believed that Redknapp could not take us.

Alex Ferguson complaining that 4 minutes of injury is a disgrace to the game.

    Pathetic twat

  7. Don't forget, there was three mins in the first half, too, and that had two injuries.

They were both penalties IMO, but we have to look at the defeat, we lost it with Rio being terrible today. If we had any other defender fit, there would have been a different outcome. For better or for worse refereeing decisions are part of the game, and most United fans know we've had our share of luck.

Congratulations on the win, at least was a good game of football. <diva>

With the goals and subs he has a point but I am sure deep down he knows he messed up with his team selection and as he often does he will be looking to deflect too much criticism from the team. Behind the scenes even with the second half performance he will be laying into them big time and as I said, we needed a kick up the arse and we may well of just got it.

I am also happy to see AVB doing well, like the guy, think Chelsea thought they were too big for him and hope he shows them how stupid they were.

Let him moan. It's tactical. He wants to distract from the first half performance by providing a talking point for the pundits.
He'll point out the penalty claims and injury time, that way the focus will be away from his players.
They were dire in the first half and totally dominated the 2nd.
    He knows that.

Strangely I always thought Spurs would win. Before and during the match.

I really don't think United are as good as they are hyped up to be by the media. If there was any justice they'd have lost away to Southampton and Liverpool as well.

Spurs bossed the midfield and ran at them with free will. It was a completely deserved win for Spurs and United can have no complaints.

The Villa game for you lot is massive though, you can't follow up a win at OT with dropping silly points at home to relegation fodder.

Good for AVB as it takes the media off his back and wins over the Spurs fans, this is what I was trying to get at it my earlier thread.

He doesn't have any point. United were outplayed and deservedly lost. Foy surprisingly had a good game and didn't roll over for Fergie and the OT crowd.

We didn't think we were to big for him, it just didn't work out, things happen. We won the CL and FA Cup so I'd argue it wasn't a stupid decision.

If said during the Southampton game that I think United have at least 5/6 more losses in them. You'll need to do something about your defence because you are looking more like top 4 material than title material.

His job is to manage the club. He represents Manchester United and has a responsibility to be honest with the fans.

Blaming the referee is a slap in the face to all the United fans that paid to watch 45 minutes of rubbish and would have wanted an honest appraisal/explanation

A few bogus penalty calls for handball doesn't constitute to getting favourable decisions, the ref is doing his job

When we beat Stoke last week on MOTD we were ripped apart, you wouldn't have known we won the game and kept a clean sheet against a team that was previously unbeaten having played the likes of City and Arsenal.
