Well, well, well, what have we here?A Southampton win as I expected...We need defenders with pace, Adkins Out! ,,,,, gomarchingin what have you got to say now??What an idiot you are, you stupid bastard! Keep the faith you ******!

We are Southampton, we rule the south coast!!

There's only one Nigel Adkins! Now let's get up that table.

Villa were lucky to get a goal today!Put Adkins just has the Midas touch, what can I say?Lovely guy, and manager! He is my hero and should be a hero to all of you.

    Ramirez was superb today!

    Saints are going down?Nah, not likely. We've got a **** defense haven't we? 4-1, 4-1, 4-1!

I'm tired of the rumours! We are Southampton, we are strong, we will stick together.

Only true fans allowed, no glory hunters!

Delighted!! Fantastic second half. Ramirez was getting better and better and really showing his quality and that's after just a week training with the squad. Mayuka looked good when he came on too. We always knew that we had good attacking players, and if we can cut out silly mistakes in the defence then we will win games. Well done to Nigel and the whole team. We may have lost the previous 4 games but that doesn't tell the whole story. Onwards and upwards! Our season started today.

I was saying all summer that Richardson should be starting. He can play a full game and you'll barely notice him, but you can be confident he won't put a foot wrong and he'll always be well positioned. Clyne is more exciting for sure, but you never know what you're going to get from him.

The first half was just a practice for the actual match which started at 4pm.

Great result and performance, said at half time we just needed that something extra and it came in the form of puncheon/mayuka and richardson down the right! Great game for all involved bar Fox, all impressed, Gazzaniga's kicking was superb. a few times he was under pressure and looked unbelieveably cool. very very good all round.

I'm yet to be convinced of his premier league quality, and he wasn't really tested today, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting ahead of Fox soon.

Also, Saints are first on MOTD for the third week running (fourth if you count MOTD2)!

Great result. Thumping a side 4-1 in the Prem is no mean feat. Even when we were an established top flight team I don't remember putting 4 past many teams. Hopefully the belief is restored among everyone connected with the club (although I think it was mainly the press and so called experts that were panicking) and the rumours will stop. Big game next week and if we can get a point at Everton it will have been a very good couple of weeks

Sky Sports News just showed that Saints are above Liverpool, and Le Tiss let out a sort of girly yelp which made me laugh.

We are a very exciting team to watch. Guaranteed goals at both ends and some fantastic attacking football on show although saying that I'd be happy if we come away with a 0-0 next time out

....the thing I have been excited about all along is that this is such a young team. Damn near beat the top two teams in this league but for a bit of naivity and a bit of fergie-time, and now this.

    Exciting times :)

Man of the Match = Adkins-Genius. Gives Fox his last chance.........Fox Fails........Balls of steel and on with Richardson.

Player of the match between Ramirez and Fonte...............and I slated Fonte as past it last season. lol. Happy to be wrong.

Saggy face twitchy on MOTD tonight. lol.

It's hilarious watching the clueless response from the Villa forums. The phrase 'against the worst team in the league' is being thrown about a lot, they seem to think we were ****, but they were ****ter <laugh>
Very average first half, sensational second. Ramirez looked so much more dangerous when he received the ball a bit deeper, and Mayuka was an absolute menace when he came on, an excellent substitute an if he continues to perform like that should start. Also Gazzaniga looked very calm, which is the most important thing I think for a young keeper, happy with him even though he didn't have to do a lot.
