Konsa moved his foot towards the ball so was clewrly a deliberate attempt to play. I’d also say if I was a manager and my defender isn’t attempting to deliberately play the ball when it’s hit towards him inside the 6 yard box then I’d be fining him and dropping him from the next match day line up tbh.
Except 2 of them weren’t so kind of negates your argument as clearly haven’t actually seen the video. You make more sense when posting random gifs then actually trying to get involved in discussion.
doesn't matter. we need a win for 5th now on final game. move on and finish season respectably massive changes required. all villa did was play a high line and kept the gaps between said lunes at literally no space. our lot just stood in between and we're easily marked out. trent and fabinho behind forwards. hardly got a sniff really. Henderson and Jones might as well have stayed home where they stood. diaz salah and gakpo were in at will but the balls either never got played or played too late or when they were not running. the times gakpo got in he couldn't control it. we then had cash on toast and took off diaz. we pressed up but Everyone went at ball not as a press properly so villa always had a lane or a simple ball despite 5 players pressing. 5 run at man getting ball and he can flip it out wide all day.
So you did get beaten seven times in a row by Sunderland. If we got beaten seven times in a row by Everton, I would not be sounding off on your board
Brighton have Man City and Aston Villa as their final 2 games. They aren’t getting 2 wins from those fixtures. We’re safe even in 5th even if we drew our final game…Brighton have a -10 goal difference compared to us.
yeah but that doesn't matter really. the win to round off season is the main thing. win 5th rather than get handed it.
We've already earnt fifth FFS, about handed it And Brighton's game against Man City will have already happened by the time we play or last game, it'll already be over.
I’ll get onto the players later but that was one of the worst referee performances ever. Great idea to let Jon brooks referee this game given that Klopp berated him a few weeks back (!)
he was as bad for villa. there were so many flop overs blown up and clear frees then ignored. timewasting indulged, fake injuries indulged. however to allow a blatantly clear pen be waved off and a yellow for a clear red is down to var
Amazed ( not) at the way MOTD never even mentioned the chest kick after the two-hour inquest over Jota against Spurs a few weeks ago The pen never got a mention either, though it was quite blatant - he just laughed at the ref and the fef seemed to take his reactions as proof that there was no contact. in fairness, Fab got away with 65 fouls, none of them serious, but all the BIG calls went Villa's way. But okay, 9 on the bounce was always a long, long shot, and the league table never lies - while we had a superb April/May we've been quite ****ing gash for most of the rest of the season. Newcastle and Uniturd deserve CL football more than us, and that's that. Problem now with no CL is that FSG will feel justified in only having a net spend of @ £25m in the transfer window, lower than even Bournemouth and Forest again. Whereas had we qualified for the CL and won something this season.... oh, wait.
