I think either two things have happened. One the club have tried buying goalkeepers but the deals have fallen through so therefore have had to stick with Kelvin Davis. Or the club firmly believed davis would cut it at the premier league and believed that we needed strengthning in other areas by buying ramirez for 11million; if this was the case then i disagree with the club!

Surely we needed to strengthen the team with a goalkeeper, another centre back and left back. Its great to have Ramirez but do you think the money should have been spent more wisely?

Yes in one word . Poor transfer window and I think buying Ramirez is a cynical ploy as if we balls up we will sell him for the same amount , good business but it hardly strengthens our defence .

Totally agree. Poor transfer window and now the club appears to be panick buying now that they are thinking of getting Craig gordon an injury prone goalkeeper!

Sorry but this is rubbish. We spent £29 million and acquired the Japanese Olympic captain, a future world star in Ramirez and a flying international striker in Mayuka. OK you can argue we should have strengthened more at the back but as lots of us have said we don't know who else we were in for!

I would of thought a man like Cortese would not take no for answer ?

I am getting tired and extremely bored of over optimistic schoolboy enthusiasm based upon nothing other than blind faith....................

gomarching in, if we spent money from our budget on another CB, LB and GK like you've said before you wanted us to, then our attacking purchases wouldn't have been as good or as many. Would you then be saying that we won't score enough goals to stay up?

And many of us are getting tired and extremely bored of negative old man syndrome based upon nothing other than wanting to moan

I am basing my realism on facts of letting in 14 goals in 4 games , piss poor defending in those 4 games at times and the lack of signing quality defenders in the transfer window , now these are facts what are you basing your optimism on exactly ?

Just played the 3 strongest teams in the PL would be shot in the dark, from me. And one in which we definitely should have won.

Perhaps it's most of us didn't expect to win any of those games, so we're all doing how we thought we would <laugh>

We've just played 3 of the best teams in the country - it's hard to be overly negative about losing them

I'm interested in how you would solve the "lack of signing quality defenders in the transfer window". Come on, look to the future and resolve it.

Do you have a time machine so you can resolve it, or is that just a whinge about something that's happened and can't be changed?

But did we expect to concede 12 goals against them ? Losing yes but 12 goals ? We were League 1 and only conceded 2 against United in the Cup .
Losing is one thing its the manner of defeat hence me not budging on this at all .

I should stress that I disagree with your premise as I see Maya-san and Clyne as being decent signings. I'm still interested how you're planning to resolve something that's in the past.

I want to know

1) Are the management happy with our squad ?
2) If not why were not more signed when we had 3 months to aquire and search for players ?
3) If Cortese is a man who get what he wants I can only presume he and Adkins are happy or as happy as they can be with the squad ?
4) We have money and need to improve so why not spend it on quality as money talks .
