We played well today, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I especially enjoyed Bolton looking totally crushed & demoralised in the 2nd half.

    Lovely stuff all round.

Unfortunately, I'm now at a BBQ with loads of people I don't know, and I'm not happy about it. Ugh.

Great win for the boys and it sounds as if the new signings did well. Just listen to SB on BBC website, and Burnsy said to him Quinn has a bit of fight and steel about him, and SB said well he is one of 15 kids, so he has had to fight most of his life.

Despite an incredible performance all round is anyone else concerned Liam Rosenior might throw a tantrum if he is on the bench behind Elmohamady, I don't want to put a downer on the victory but what happens when Elmo starts in the 3-5-2/5-3-2 but Rosenior doesn't get a look in, will we lose one of our best players for little money in January?

He broke a few of their moves up with interceptions. If I was going to draw a comparison though I'd be saying it's the style of play we should be able to expect from Cairney when he's back from injury. I don't know whether to be disapointed or not that my pun went unnoticed though.

whole team played great today bar 2 performances.

    1) Jay Simpson - absolutely outstanding. battered Knight often, turned like Bergkamp and worked and chased like a demon. Brilliant synergy with Aluko, MOM for me.

    2) Seyi Olifinjana - passenger for the whole 90mins. just doesn't like tackling, slow to the ball and to close down and no signature classy moments. very very poor.

The sooner Meyler arrives in his place the better cause he's honestly all that's missing for us to threaten for automatic.

Final mention for Alex Bruce who was very very good today. brave, composed, organised, played some decent balls and fits brilliantly with Faye and Chester in a rock solid back 3.

This is potentially a really good positive footballing side.

I don't think Mayler will be signing for us, he played for Sunderland today.

We were awesome today. I haven't seen us play like that in ages and the fans were reacting to it. It's the first time since the PL days that I can remember the fans being inspired into song by whats going on the pitch.

Amos is looking like a really solid keeper. His handling is superb, even when he makes a difficult save he holds onto everything. Chester and Faye were as good as ever today, but Faye had a big job marking Davies and did it really well. Bruce was miles better than he was against Brighton or Blackburn; he was sound defensively (made one very important block) and he was a lot better on the ball too. He even used his left foot once.

We played without a holding midfielder today (like Ricardo said, Oli is just there to pass it about a bit really and he isn't hard enough be our ballwinner). Koren gave his usual steady performance which is becoming more and more part of his game: I much prefer this Koren to the one we had last season who scored goals but often went missing for periods. Quinn looked quality on the ball even if he wasn't particularly physical. Oli was the one disappointment really. But I expect McKenna to play ahead of him when he's back anyway. Dudgeon is getting better and better, contender for MotM today and Elmohamady definitely has the final ball that Rosenior lacks. Every time he got the ball he was whipping balls in.

Aluko was his usualy tricky bastard self, they really couldn't cope with him. Simpson showed again that he's currently our best striker. My man of the match, he chased everything, his touch was quality, he got on the end of a few crosses and had a perfectly good goal disallowed out of sympathy for Bogdan. Based on that and Blackburn the system seems to be working fine. More of the same for me please.

He played some good balls and did win the ball occasionally, but he's got all the steel of a polythene bag and he ambles around too much.

Overall though, it was a great performance and Quinn could well turn out to be the signing of the season.

One think i want to know is why has no-one gone in for Quinn before? What a bargain.

One thing i loved was we wasn't rigid, players got forward when they wanted, Chester was willing to take it forward, Elmo, Aluko, Koren, Quinn where all interchanging and making some great moves off the ball, first time i've seen that in ages. It just all clicked.

I wonder if when they went down he said he'd give them a season to try to get them back up.

A very good win against a good team. The three points are very valuable, and it's good to see the team score three goals. Happy for Aluko to get a goal too as he has looked unlucky not to score so far in the highlights.

All those assists last season, really a bargain. It's about time we got a replacement for Billy Askew all these years later!

Spoke to my Sheffield United friend who said they did have interest, but he thinks it was mainly the reason you speak of and that he is fairly loyal, and that Hull are a local club and have a chance of going up so was the perfect fit for him. Also Sheffield United are in some financial worries, although they may have a rich Nigerian on the way. No its not a fake email joke.
