Harry Kane has signed on a season long loan.

Hope the panic is over, think it's a good signing. A massively rated youngster.

Sorry but he is average, not good enough for premier league level so don't expect much from him.

    Great !
A spuds reserve, is that really the best we could do ?
Can't help feeling we are going to be struggling for goals,
it's going to be a long hard slog !

Hmm Interesting. Don't know too much about the guy but hope he does well
Let's not lose perspective over the whole window where we have made what 8 other signings

So we got a striker but still no good. I don't know anything about him so I'm willing to give him a chance. He's a Brucie bonus, better than Vaughan on a treatment table that's for sure.

Guess he probably wasn't first choice but he sounds like an alternative to what we have and he scored a few for Spurs in their pre season friendlies. Looking forward to seeing him although it won't be today.

i think CMS was first choice redruth. it seems we were waiting on brighton to find replacements first and they didn't get them until nearly 11pm. also, i very much doubt they really wanted to do a deal - he's an important player for them. still, kane is an exciting prospect - all spurs fans rate him very highly and i like what i've seen for the england youth teams. give him a chance in front of goal and he'll take it, and we can't always say that about out strikers! ;)

The loan window re-opens in a week. If there was a deal to be done that was not completed in time (CMS or other) then it could be that a player joins us with a view to completion in Jan.

I don't know much about Kane and hope he is the answer. I cannot pretend that I am not a little underwhelmed though.

I know we have restrictions in what we can do, but can't help thinking that some of those around us have moved on more than we have in the past 6 months. I think we need to get a few points on the board quickly now and build some momentum and confidence. Get a couple of wins under our belt and the good feeling around the club can be maintained/recovered.

This is the problem with the transfer window. It can falsely affect the whole feeling around a club. I just feel a little flat about things today and there is no real reason for it.

<ok> Says it all. The nonsense that has been going on on here over the last day has very little to do with NCFC. It just shows up some posters for what they are -- and I don't propose to go into details.

Go back a few years to when we signed Ched Evans on loan. Not many people had heard of him, and yet by the end of the season, there were city fans that thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread and that we should sign him permanently.

Kane could be the same. If he does what Evans did, I'll be more than happy.

I like this signing. He was tipped to make the breakthrough to Spurs first team this year, but the signing of Clint Dempsey made that less likely. Kane was on loan to Millwall the last half of last season and scored 10 goals in 23 games and was named the Lions' Young Player of the Year. An exciting prospect, IMO. OTBC!

I also think that this shows the path that has to be taken if a youngster is going to make it in the Premiership. It is the same path taken by Naughton. Kane must have only been 17 when he went to Leyton Orient the season before last and played in League 1. Last season he played 23 games for Millwall in the Championship . Now, at 18 or 19 years old, he has a season long loan with a Premiership club. Look at our so called youngsters. Francomb, aged 21, on loan to AFC Wimbledon. Adeyemi, aged 21, on loan at Brentford. Korey Smith, aged 21, who knows. Are they really going to make it in the Premiership?

Yeah, but Tottenham have a far more advanced academy than us. It's just a fact that they'd be able to develop more players than us. I very much hope that we can develop a lot more of our own players over the coming years as we establish ourselves. thats something that is part of the longer term plan.

Agree 100%. I suppose what I am saying is that we have got to forget the past, including the players produced, and rely on CH to get the staff, and the funds from the Board, to push our academy forward.

I think we're making good progress but it will obviously take time. We've got the highest academy status (not sure how it works) now and things look a lot brighter.

We certainly know how to produce goalies lol
