Falcao cost the same as Carroll. That is one reason it is so hard not to look at that price tag and think what if. **** we could have had him in 09 for 3 mil.

Starting to look like it's a maybe on Dempsey and that's it. Really hoped we had someone lined up as a Carroll replacement. Have to say if no one else comes in the decision to let Carroll go looks bizarre.
It must be brilliant being the owner of Porto. All you do is go buy young South American players for a few million and let them perform well for a good team in a **** league. Then a host of other European clubs come sniffing in better leagues and you double your money instantly. Their owner must be one of the very few who is actually making money from football!

Probably right Frank! He's still got 2 years on his contract so we'll struggle to sell him next summer as well. Hopefully he'll prove us all wrong and put in some decent performances but I can't see him getting the chances to do that. He will have his contract torn up in a year and get a massive pay-out. Which is money which we could use on transfers etc.
I normally wouldn't be so concerned, but our squad is paper thin! Why has he let Carroll go out on loan if he wasn't certain a replacement would come in? Let's hope there's still a surprise in store for us.
