Where does it say that? Only thing I can see is BR saying he hopes to get 1 or 2 more in. Below is a quote from BR so he obviously knows we need a goalscorer so can still see us getting one.

But I hope to god we've got someone lined up under the radar as a striker otherwise the decision to let Carroll go out on loan is simply bizzare - whether he fits our system or not!

Suarez has 2 in 2 so far. As long as we create 20 chances for him every game, he'll score 38 goals in the league

Not really. We've dropped our price by £3m already and you've upped your offer by... nothing. It's Liverpool who are playing hardball and if you don't sign Dempsey, the blame is squarely on your refusal to spend any actual cash.

No, because we got a loan fee for Carroll rumoured to be around £2mil and also saved on his and Spearing wages which would add a few more mil.
