Right, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been tempted by a cheeky jaunt to one of our European games...I'm also sure I'm not the only one unsure about prices of travel, accommodation and availability of tickets?

I thought we could use this thread as a Viagogo style info swapper. A place where we can share all the available info on the cheapest trains, planes and automobiles, tickets and hostels.

The game dates (if unchanged) will be:

    20 Sep Maritimo (Portugal)
    8 Nov Bruges (Belgium)
    6 Dec Bordeaux (France)

So, anyone thinking of going? Anyone got any tips? Anyone got a ****ing clue? (no? me neither!)

For the Bruges game, I was looking at the cheapest possible way to travel. You can get a return coach from Newcastle to Amsterdam for about £60, with a train/bus combo from Amsterdam to Bruges for about €25. With ticket, hostel, food and drink you're looking at £150-£200 at the very least (and the best part of 2 days on a bus)

I really fancy the idea of a trip to Bordeaux in December but with a new born I'm going to struggle to finance it

A heck of a journey by coach, but just think of the pleasure on the journey home after winning the game.

Im thinking Bordeaux via Easyjet from Lpool. Flights not on sale yet but im thinking £80 return, plus of course petrol getting to the airport and maybe a b&b for an overnight slurp.
All in I reckon about £175.

Liverpool, Glasgow and Manchester are all reasonable places to fly from...Do you know when they release the flight details?

Can go from Tuesday to Friday of the Bruges game, Manchester to Brussels £32 return on Ryanair, just add in cheapish train from Brussels to Bruges and accomodation, could be a good one for people to look at, that's what I'm doing <party>

I was looking at Eurostar prices, you can book a train and hotel, I guess it depends on how many of you go but for two people, It'll probably cost you about 120 quid each to go from London. Obviously you also have to factor in ticket, food and transport to London, so probably looking at 200 quid each again. May be able to get it cheaper if you find people to share the room with to get the room cost down. Personally think I'll save up for the miracle chance we make it to Amsterdam, haha.

Thinking about the Bordeaux game as well. Live down south 30 mins from Gatwick £90 for flights then extras? Probably would need £150 or so.

    Hi guys,

Just a quick post... I'm planning on going to all 3 Europa matches.
I've moved over to the UK from Aus to be able to support the Toon(sick of 3am kick-offs on dodgy internet streams).

I've booked Brugge(and accom...St Christophers Inn -cheapest option 13 quid with 10 other geordies) & Bordeaux transport and am looking at Maritimo now.

Anyone else going keen to share what they have found?

Also knowing away ticket allocation will vary between all 3 matches due to stadium capacity, its still uncertain what number we will receive.

I was wondering anyone who is not going to the matches who has a season ticket(with decent number of loyalty points) who can help a lad out? Especially for the Maritimo match as it will only be a tiny allocation.

    Thanks in advance.

Whereabouts do you live G4rdToonArmy? I live about 30 mins from Gatwick also and need some people to catch our games with as the only other Geordie I knew within 30 miles has moved to aus??? You up for catching the Everton match somewhere?

    Any news on the tickets?

My dad has some contacts, but I'm just wondering how many loyalty points it's gonna cost?

I'm sure being a thursday night away Europa match, most people not being able to get down there, it wont be many loyalty points.

I posted this in another european away trip thread but thought it might useful...

just booked up myself for Brugges. we're travelling up to Edinburgh by train and flying from there on the way out and flying back into manchester with train back to newcastle. We've found a hotel for £100 for 2 nights with 3 sharing, its near the ground but its apparently 5 mins drive away from Brugges town centre - all in its costing £122 which includes train, plane and accomm.

Found this website when researching that says theres a train direct from Charleroi airport to Brugges (with change in Brussels) for 11 Euros

Also bit of info here with links to their rail sites if you want to book in advance

Are you booking your ticket from Brussels to Brugge in advance, or just do it on the day?
