Looks like we're divided on this one. I don't think age is an issue, 31 is not old, and providing he remained fit and healthy you could get a good 3+ years out of him. He's experienced and professional, and as has been said, he was one of our best players in the premier league. If the wages weren't too steep i think he'd be a very nice addition to the squad.
Agree with this, McKenna is 35 and is a first team player and I don't remember anybody complaining about Pedersen, Okocha or Barmby being 'old'. Apparently its ok to be 30+ if they turn 31 while at the club. But heaven forbid we sign somebody who's halfway to 60. If his wages aren't massive, get him in, he's a real pro who can help Stewart and Aluko develop their game.
Seemed like Hunt ran about 40 miles at White Hart Lane that night Bo Myhill stopped about 300 shots. He always ran and worked hard for sure.
No he doesn't. In the two games he's played this season he's looked great. I know that isn't a lot to judge him on but it makes more sense than saying he's crap based on last season. He had quality too, he was a bit Damien Duff like in some ways, when he set up Geovanni's goal away at Wolves in the second prem season it was an awesome bit of passing and then the cross was excellent. Was that the one where Gardner managed to lob himself and his own keeper whilst facing away from goal? It was dfefinitely that match. Hunt would be a very good signing.
Believe it or not I never actually believed he was responsible for every goal. The original point with exaggeration excluded for your benefit: Gardner is ****, he had an abysmal season in 09/10 in which he was directly responsible for a **** load of goals with his marking and heading errors. Really can't understand all the hate for Hunt on this thread, I thought he was great and he's hardly ancient now.
Season opener in 09/10, scored the first premier league goal of the season in our early kick off with a free kick from almost the halfway line, no one got on the end of it, it bounced in the middle of the box and into the top corner of the goal. Shame Drogba scored a goal of equal flukeyness in injury time with a skewed cross that lobbed the keeper and bent into the top corner to beat us 2-1, I thought we played magnificent that day and were great value for a point. Oh well, not like it would have made much difference anyway in te gran scheme of things...
are you on drugs bob, or is it a joke i dont get it was a deflected boateng shot which fell to him about 9 yards out and he knocked it in? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVleUR2RJ9U edit- i think your thinking of home to spurs the week after, but that was nowhere near halfway line either...
Only on days that end in day I coul have sworn it was that game, clearly not but I remember him doing it sometime, it was miles out but 99% sure it was an away game as I swear I remember watching it on an online stream, I'd have been at the game if it was at home..
the spurs game when we got hammered 5-1 was the tuesday after, and he did score a goal as you described sort of, it was way out, probably about 35 yards right out on the right hand touchline and it swung all the way in, before defoe ripped us a new arsehole.
Could well be but I'm sure it was from nor far from the halfway line. Either way it was a ridiculous goal!
