Some of you are being too impatient,WBA drew 2-2 at the lane last season with Arry established so I'm not too disappointed with today's result. They had a good win last week so were buoyed up by that and our new boss needs time to get going and to settle. I was out all day and haven't seen the match but the report stated that many positives came out of it for us so I'll watch it and see. You will change your mind when we beat Norwich.
Or was it C) because he slipped just before Cabaye made his move and he's never been any good at defending anyway? Ba was able to turn in the box because he was Walker's man and he'd failed to clear the ball putting himself miles away from Ba. Plus it really doesn't take a proffessional footballer long to turn. The only way Gallas could've closed him down faster would be to sprint at him which would've made it easy for Ba to go past him, plus because of the ridiculous handball rule he'd have had to sprint at him with both arms tucked tightly behind his back incase ba shot, which he did. It wasn't the best defending you'll see but it was far from woeful and 9/10 times it would have been enough. Walker made the real error but you're never short of an excuse to have a go at someone ex-Chelsea at our club.
Very well said Yid, quite impressive actually, it would seem you, like me, have seen the increasing amount of sly digs from the poster that was oh so sorry a month ago...you're a mod mate, remind him you have the power to **** him off out of it again.
I can't believe some of what I'm reading here: 1 - doubting manager after 2 games. Are we now Chelsea? 2 - high line doesn't work. Swansea? 3 - formation doesn't work. Swansea? 4 - terrible start. We are 1 point worse than corresponding fixtures last year. The system CAN work but the players need to adapt. Some will adapt quickly, some won't. Some won't adapt at all. Let AVB discover what does and doesn't work. Per-season is all well and good but it's in the pressure of actual games that he will learn the most about our players.
I was looking at April 2011 which was 2-2,quite a few draws between us though. So it was the year before...right Spurcat.
Well said Boss - but the blame for me primarily lies at ENIC's door ATM. May change my views as the season progresses, of course. We need another striker, a keeper and a mid, have ENIC got the ambition, have they got the cash?
Thanks for the optimism Zingy, and like the joke But I'm afraid I can't share it, ENIC have put their new manager under unnecessary pressure by once again faffing around in the transfer market and letting us down badly. I'm far from confident AVB will ride the ensuing storms as well as Hrry could with his decades of experience and mates in the media. IF we beat Norwich we'll be 3 points off where should be at this stage, draw and we've slipped too far behind to have any realistic hope of CL, IMHO. If I was to predict ATM, I'd say 9th/11th for us, but I live in hope that ENIC will do something positive soon.
You've far too much quality to finish 9th-11th IMO but lack the quality to finish top 6 at the moment. Whilst ENIC are perhaps at fault for leaving transfer dealings to the last minute you camt legislate for poor tactics used in matches
I don't share your views on this GH10, but how do you know that ENIC has faffed around. For all anyone knows they have bid 50% more than AVB thinks is the value for dozens of players and been turned down.
Mods are like the UN mate, even if he starts killing everyone who disagrees with him all I can do is sanction a strongly worded letter. Anyway, whilst he might be feeding off the negativity of some users here, the fact is they agree with him. The more offensive and blatant wums are removed from the board but frankly I think there's enough intelligent posters here to counter his arguments. He'll be quiet as a mouse when our team gets sorted out. Oh and obviously I meant Ben Arfa not Cabaye
Nah way, personally I think you will finish above us. And I don't see us finishing that low. Judging by the start of last season, things turned out very different for most teams. Wolves won their first 2, you lost your first 2, Arsenal's first 2 months, we had a decent start...all those mentioned went on to do the opposite to what they started. By the way, talking of Rosie... is that dog in the Sky Sports fantasy football adds with 'Arry the actual dog itself? A funny touch if it is.
Hence why I said out of his comfort zone. Lennon is more of a winger than right sided midfielder in my view. Unlike Bale who can fulfill both roles aptly. Walker made the error yes but from that position the situation should still have been recoverable. I wasn't having a go I was just being critical. Who he has played for is of no concern to me. He's also ex-Arsenal So I'm not quite sure what you are implying here YV Sly digs? I don't see what is wrong about critical re: a poor piece of defending. If you disagree why not say so or engage in debate like YV is rather than accusatory towards anybody else that disagrees with you.
As I said, it was because he slipped just before and he's never been a great defender. Talking about him being tired and lacking confidence was just rehashing two of your boring digs at AVB, rather than focusing on VDV and Lennon who's utter mess of an attempt at defending was the problem and not the symptomn of anything AVB's done. The Gallas thing is nothing to do with me implying anything, I straight up told you. G*llas as you refer to him is ex-Chelsea and now plays for Spurs, you don't like him so use every opportunity to have a dig at him even when other players are far more culpable, as proven with continued criticism of Gallas for Newcastle's first goal whilst only now admitting that it was Walker's error. Just like with AVB you twist and exaggerate the bits that suit you ignoring anything that doesn't fit your agenda.
A few have pointed and noticed this little manner from DL. What DL must understand is that we are not a weak bunch on here. He spent a very long time creating nothing but negative article upon article about Spurs on his board. Then one day he decided to make an apology and get back on here and now behave like you actually care about the issues on Spurs and have a positive outlook...does not sit right with me wether it is on a forum or in the big world.
Fair comments PS, I don't know that for sure so you're right on that, it's my opinion and might be wrong. But all the indications are that Loris and Ade were available weeks ago for the right money. Just having them two start in the last two games would almost certainly be putting a new complexion on the situation Anyway, I'll stand by my overall criticism of ENIC, and here I have stats to back it up. One Carling Cup in 11.5 years, our worst trophy haul for over 60 years, Yes they have done good things, but to me we won't be one of the top clubs in England while they're in charge. By that I mean a team that wins two trophies plus per decade, and is in contention for the title/CL by April at least twice a decade. When I look at how ambitious owners have transformed Chelsea and City it makes me mad to see our 'prudent efforts'.
