Then you can have a go at me being wrong. But from what I know, and its been backed up by Tony Barrett and Rory Smith, we have no money left to spend unless we sell players hence why the last 3 players we have went for were loans.

The only way we will get money now is if we sell or if yesterday was such an eye opener it panics FSG into loosening the purse strings but I don't think that will happen.

Tony Barrett has just put up a piece on The Times website confirming that we have no dosh and need to sell to buy which is why we have told Adam and Cole they can leave and I reckon we would use this money to buy Dempsey.

Charlie Adam has been informed that he can leave Liverpool for offers of more than £5 million as the need for Brendan Rodgers to shake up his squad was made more urgent by a 3-0 defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Albion.

Adam, signed by Kenny Dalglish for £5.5 million last summer, was an unused substitute at The Hawthorns and has found himself out of favour since Rodgers&#8217;s arrival. Rodgers has been working with a limited budget since taking over from Dalglish and after signing Joe Allen and Fabio Borini for a combined cost of £26 million, he now needs to sell players if he is to make more incursions in the transfer budget.

The Liverpool manager would also be willing to offload Joe Cole but is aware that there is little interest in a player earning around £100,000 per week who lasted only nine minutes after going on as a substitute against West Brom before succumbing to a hamstring injury that could keep him out for a month.

&#8220;We still needed to bring in one or two players, but we need to work with the players that are here,&#8221; Rodgers said after Saturday&#8217;s defeat. &#8220;You know what the limitations are in terms of budget, and the reality was the team finished eighth last year and there are reasons behind that.&#8221;

Tellingly, Rodgers could offer up only that there are &#8220;no easy solutions&#8221; to the situation he inherited with Cole and Liverpool could now look to subsidise the midfield player&#8217;s wages should any club show a willingness to take him on loan.

As I'm not prepared to pay for access to this sight, I'm not able to read the whole article. However, I'm sick and tired of no mark journos telling us that they KNOW that we have no money and what exactly is going on. Note he extracts lines from comments made by Rodgers that have no direct link to the argument that he is forwarding.

If Adam has been told that he can leave then you know, sure as hell, that neither he nor Liverpool would be talking about it to Barrett!

I'm sick of hacks pretending they know what's going on. They should be made to apologise for everything they claim to be true which later turns out to be unfounded.
 
Some fans here need a reality check ! Man City will not be selling their players to rivals, it doesn't need to. This is what worries me, teams like Sunderland, Swansea, Everton are the more likely destinations of big team players, strengthening our direct competition while we flounder around spending top 4 fees on lower rung layers such as Carroll & Downing, we have been left behind by teams such as Newcastle & spurs !

Anyway id rather have Suarez out wide instead of A.Johnson, if that means using Carroll as Cf.then so be it, personally id like to see a swap deal for demba ba, cash plus player which would allow us to get a new CB to challenge skrtel (who I have always thought was a liability for th most) Carra bless his heart is gone, and a massive drain for a 3 rd choice CB.
 
I don't think BR is interested in A Johnson and this is why we won't get him!

All we need to do is play our in form number ****ing 9

Get Suarez one side and Gerrard the other. Lucas Allen and Shelvey in the middle.

I have to agree that we've got a No 9 - so play him!!! If he's ****e then he's ****e and we need a replacement pronto. If not, then we get the goals and Rodgers gets the accolades

Not always true as we have seen recently with Van Persie. The only way you could possibly do it though is in a deal that suits them. For example the only way i could have let Agger go and for it to be justified is if by selling to City it gave us the ability to bring in a couple of City players. However lets not decieve ourselves we are in NO way a threat or serious rival to City at present!
