On today's poor attendance, from my seat in the east stand it appeared as though the East stand was pretty full, the south stand slightly less than usual, but the West Stand was virtually fking empty!! ****e attendance from our well healed brethren from the affluent areas of west hull So lets not blame the recession eh.. I'd go with Mussie's assumption they're all on their jollies! Let's hope we get better support for the next few games to get some momentum going. As for new tickets, they work really quickly, the delay is the eye to brain reaction of some of our fellow supporters, of you turn up late and can't get in, don't blame others or the system, get there early you numpty! Great result today, Aluko looks a handful!
Someone said a lot of people are on their hols. I said I wish.....A couple of wins, a top six spot and the missing 5k will be back..
Summer holidays will account for a fair amount, the remaining will be down to people not renewing passes (recession etc).
I couldn't afford both the away game next week AND this game. And as it's on my birthday, Charlton away takes priority. Watching the mighty Tigers on my travels on my 20th. COME ON!
I'm one of the 'recession related absentees'. I'm hoping they do the half season ticket again. How was the south stand now its the family stand?
You could probably put empty seats in the East/South due to holidays etc... but there were whole blocks in the West that were largely empty. Though, if we continue to win games, i'm sure we will be hitting 20k in October if we are doing well.
There are people going on holiday at this time of year every year, in fact the season has started a week late so it should affect it less than normal this year. It's the club's fault, they're doing **** all to get people through the door. Look at places like Derby; **** team who haven't got out of the bottom half in about 4 years but they still get massive crowds cos they're desperate promoting the club all over the place. You wouldn't even know City were playing if you weren't alreayd a fan.
there's a bank holiday week after next. school holidays as well. two weeks holiday and only using 9 days of annual holiday entitlement.. i reckon 1500 off today's gate!
Well I know 10 on holiday and that's 3 of my friends and their families just what I can remember. 3k I'd says on their jollies. And after the wins as posters above say, a thousand or two will buy match tickets which will then lead to half season cards and also give free tickets to kids like last season.
I moved from West to East due to prices this season + atmosphere. East seemed a lot fuller than West definitely. I hope West fills up in the next couple of weeks, but I saw that we didn't sell as many season tickets as last year due to price increases.
Me and the mrs couldnt afford to renew passes---I didnt go today as was working-if we did it would have been 50 quid for tickets alone before any other outlay---quite expensive for retired folk under 65 and for 90 mins entertainment--I thought when the Allams took over they wanted to reduce prices and make attending affordable for most
R.E> The South Stand becoming the Family Stand; I've been sat in S1 for the last two years whenever I've gone to City and do have a regular seat. However, at the Rotherham game I had family's sat all around me and it was a complete pain. Just let their kids on the loose. The kids weren't even bothered about the football... just wanted to make sodding mayhem. Make the SW corner the family stand like it has been for years. The club never even disclosed the fact to S1/S2 regulars that this would become the family stand. Disgusting
Well I for one find it gladdens my heart we now have a larger percentage of families following the tigers. Kids when I was young were never seen with City shirts on and the more young future adult fans we are getting the better.
I think quite a few might have done that - it seemed a lot more timid in E2 yesterday. The 3 lads that were in front of us last season who always tried to create some atmosphere have vanished and have been replaced by an old bloke and 2 girls who barely made a noise.
not sure what the reasons are but i got there and normally i cant manage the opener as im either on my hols (august fortnighter) or working so i'd class myself as an extra Could it be down to the sporting marathon of this summer ?, theres been no real break for something for us to really get behind and support . I quite like cricket , but because its usually an alternative to Football i end up hating it , this close season theres not been a weekend where theres been a sporting break so i guess a fair few would sacrifice the opener for doing something else.
The club said early on that the South Stand was going to be a family stand, why would you think S1 & S2 would be excluded from this?
