Sounds brilliantI used to love the derby games and obviously it was always rocking against the mancs.
I went to the last two games in '86 (home games) which we won both 5-0 (think it was Brum and Coventry). Think we won our last 7 games that year snatching the title from the blues with Kennys magical goal at Stamford Bridge
The Man Utd 3-3 game was amazing as well. Its the only time I ever wanted to leave a game early....3-0 down after half an hour (ish) I remember looking toward the back of the stand and just thinking "there is no way on earth I can fight my way up there"thankfully a few minutes later and Clough rocketed one into the bottom corner....queue the mayhem
European nights were always my fave though....something even better about a European night game and thats still the same today for melove them.
I agree about European nights. I was at the first one against Reykjavik when the biggest cheer of the night was when they scored!! I was also there when we played Ajax. It had been raining hard for weeks. Everything was soaked including us and the steam rising from the Kop was so dense it was like watching a match in the fog. I'll always remember lads around me saying "if we score every 30 seconds from now we can still win" and BELIEVING it!
My mates had a little game. We'd surreptitiously pick on a victim from the group and every time Liverpool looked like scoring we'd push them down so that they couldn't see. My turn came on a European night when we played Munich 1860. If I remember right we scored 8 and I missed 6!!
