Sounds brilliant <ok> I used to love the derby games and obviously it was always rocking against the mancs.

I went to the last two games in '86 (home games) which we won both 5-0 (think it was Brum and Coventry). Think we won our last 7 games that year snatching the title from the blues with Kennys magical goal at Stamford Bridge <diva>

The Man Utd 3-3 game was amazing as well. Its the only time I ever wanted to leave a game early....3-0 down after half an hour (ish) I remember looking toward the back of the stand and just thinking "there is no way on earth I can fight my way up there" <laugh> thankfully a few minutes later and Clough rocketed one into the bottom corner....queue the mayhem <ale>

European nights were always my fave though....something even better about a European night game and thats still the same today for me <ok> love them.

I agree about European nights. I was at the first one against Reykjavik when the biggest cheer of the night was when they scored!! I was also there when we played Ajax. It had been raining hard for weeks. Everything was soaked including us and the steam rising from the Kop was so dense it was like watching a match in the fog. I'll always remember lads around me saying "if we score every 30 seconds from now we can still win" and BELIEVING it!

My mates had a little game. We'd surreptitiously pick on a victim from the group and every time Liverpool looked like scoring we'd push them down so that they couldn't see. My turn came on a European night when we played Munich 1860. If I remember right we scored 8 and I missed 6!!

However, they aped behaviour with the booing which I note that neither the media or the FA made comment about - hypocrites!!

I'm getting fed up of reading about Buttman saying footballers aren't special and they should all learn from the wonderful athletes. Not the athletes who got done for doping, of course. Oh and not the athletes who appealed against every decision like they were footballers Hell-bent on winning any way they could. And not the punished and disgraced athletes who were pushed by their coaches into trying to lose to avoid a tough draw, like football teams have done since time immemorial, because the warnings that the changes the associations were introducing were likely to produce exactly that situation were ignored. Nor the athlete whose athletics association were incompetent enough to forget to withdraw him from a race he shouldn't have been in leading to him being banned for not trying - I believe his official "trying" score was 43% according to the official measurements - then let back in with a doctor's note to win the race he was always lined up for.

But no doubt many athletes will be out in the community this week, quietly doing the community and charity work they never get the credit for. Just like footballers.

Imagine nowadays pulling down your fly and pissing on the foot of the person next to you? From what I've heard it was regular event on the KOP in the 70s.

If you knew the Kop then you would know that you couldn't get out if you wanted a piss! Even if you could then the bogs were by the gates at either end and were only visited by the very brave <laugh>

I don't remember that, but I do remember everyone pissing against the back wall at half time. The second half was like standing in an ornamental piss fountain.

Great vid, Billy. I think I was at almost all of those games. Brought a tear to me eye.

So where was your speck then?

When I first started to go, on any crash barrier I could get on otherwise I couldn't see a bloody thing. Every time there was a goal or action in the corner the crowd surged forward and we got pitched onto the back of the bloke in front.

Wasn't always totally unwelcome on a freezing cold night in January...:emoticon-0111-blush

I do remember some bloke in the 70's shagging his bird against a barrier at half-time. It was very civilised the way everyone pulled back to give them room (and used their lighters to let them see better), and some old feller even let the girl finish his hip flask off to get the taste of the bloke's 'flourish' out of her mouth.

People were friendlier in the old days...

some basket ball fan got convicted for making a hitler salute at an olympic basket ball match and for making monkey noises at a black African team...he admitted it and was fined. He claimed he was very sorry and embaressed...he was an accountant.

And another guy was arrested for throwing a bottle onto the track at the 100 metre final.

so all told Hodgsons being a bit of a pratt!

We used to stand to the right of the left hand post (as you looked down from the back) <ok> Near enough the middle to soak it all up but just far enough away to actually have your feet touch the floor a few times every half. Even trying to get your lighter out was hard work nevermind smoking without burning someones eye out <laugh>

I do remember two girls in front of us at half time one game....one turns round to the fellas behind with a look of pure horror and goes "eeeeh one of you dirty ****ers has pissed in my pocket"....they all just burst into fits of laughter (as did we).

Real hard core we was! 2/3rds of the way up behind the goal on the lower section. Can remember some girl wearing a white mini skirt in the Kop. She left with a big grin on her face and a grey mini skirt
