That's true, Tony. I so hope he can rouse himself to another stunning performance. Javelin final too - bring back Steve Backley!

Just heard one of my favourite stupid comments of the games during the women's mountain bikings when the British girl was described as "literally knowing this course better than he back of her hand".

    "literally"?? Are you sure fella?

I see lick arse Lord Coe is now our Legacy Ambassador. Coe, the man who sulked when Ovett beat him, and now can't really come out and say "brilliant" about FlyMo. He says its all about mental ability. We don't need the reasons at this stage sulker, we just want someone to say "FCUKIN BRILLIANT"

What a way to finish, Anthony Joshua winning the super-heavyweight gold - absolutely fantastic! And what a superb interview he gave at the end as well, that guy is going to go a long, long way in the game - and he's only 22!

I think they were embarrassd that the scores were originally level, very sporting of them to let another set of judges confirm that our boy won it by comfortably more than a count-back. <ok>

I must admit, when they said the Italians are appealing, I thought,"not to me they're not!"

Doesnt it feel a bit sad now it's over???

No more medals, no more random sports to watch like handball, canoeing and modern pentathlon (That is random)

Please come back again in my lifetime

Epic post. Sums up how many people will feel the length and bredth of the country.
Well done U.K. in winning the right to stage these games, and in making them an enchanting global success.

I don't always feel proud to be British - but tonight I'm as proud as a guy can get <ok>

Thanks Dave. <ok> In the USA now do the best we've got is the NBC coverage. They were using a splash-o-meter for the diving and the commentary was awful and clearly not live!

Shame that the closing ceremony had to feature all the real stand up people who will leave a lasting legacy for young people to look up to and admire.
George Just a quick spilff while I'm driving Michael
Russell You don't want to know the things I've done Brand
Kate I think my straw was over the white line Moss
Naomi Don't you know who I am Campbell
Fatboy Can I borrow your straw Kate Slim

Although most of the music was "my era",I still thought it could have been better.

Highlight for me was Brian May and Jessie J (can't stand her normally)

Low point,Russell Brand and "fashion models"WTF was that about?

Overall a fantastic 16 days Well done GB.Stand up and take a bow<applause><applause><applause>

Terrible closing ceremony, messed up I think by lack of organisation of getting the athletes in (they were all loitering around tweeting) that's why we got the repeat button pressed after elbow

Some bands and acts were inconspicuous by ther absence, apparently blur where in London doing a gig and I'm confused why kaiser chiefs sung pinball wizard if the who are actually there as well, strange.

Anyway, some good moments like the python section, and I'm just sad to see the games go
