The lengths you're going to in order to justify your (wrong) claim are ridiculous.
Fact is, £25.6m in 2004 is £33.9m in 2012. Paint it in any context you like; those are the bare figures.
If you think PSG's owners are affected by the recession, you're kidding yourself. These are guys who have billions to burn, clearly. Look how much they've spent this summer.

They werent but the country they operate in has been well and truly ****ed by the recession.

Go see what the french have to say about it, the only positive the can manage on PSG is the fact they might make extra tax off them.

The entire nation of france is disgusted, the politicians are going mental over it. They have all but demanded UEFA ban them from playing in the CL.

2004 and 2012 were very different times so yes, it makes a huge difference.

Really what difference does i make. I'm not sure why you're all getting so touchy <whistle>

Comparing Rooney who already had EPL experience and was coming off the back of a quality International football tournement to a young guy moving to another continent and who isn't currently getting in the olympic team makes me this you are clutching at straws.

I'm not saying Lucas won't be really good as he could may be but Rooney had already proven himself in the league he was being transferred in <ok>

Oh ****, KE07 comes along and agrees with my point.

They said you would come along and they said they would value your opinion.

Does he have to ? The circumstance around the two said 19 year olds are comletely different. Would you like SAF to talk more and justify all his comments ?

I doubt any LFC fan wants to hear SAF talk more <laugh>

Err, it would help.
I don't think he's ever justified anything he's said, nor is he asked to be reporters, oddly.
All he had to add was 'inexperienced'.

United where prepared to pay £38M euros the sale price was £45. So not a lot of difference, eh?

With regards to Rooney, sure he had a good start to his man u career. but it appears he has peaked, he looks overweight and tired. He is a very good flat track bully, but as we seen this summer, he can't really deliver on the big stage. So on that basis, you overpaid, big time.

I doubt you'd even find another Liverpool fan that would agree with you that we overpaid for Rooney, Baz......

(sits back and waits for them to flood in )

City will dominate domestically, and as we saw last season you are light years behind the Spanish clubs. i don't know why we have to have these petty squabbles, you are not a threat to us anymore<ok>

I clearly stated that fergie is a hypocrite, how much clearer does it need to be for you?

I was not having a go at you, merely pointing out the general consensus on the matter.

<doh> Silly me I missed one of the usuals of my list, UIR claiming that he has always made people look stupid in the past. As usual without evidence and has about as much credence as his claim that Fergie is not a hypocrite on this matter.

Anyway, off ground to watch our match (this means going to the ground not watching on sky) Yes I know its not the greatest comp but hey ho that is what real fans do.

Recent developments show I do make you all look stupid.

Good luck in your game tonight!

Not to the bare figures, though. You can't talk your way around them.
Put it this way, the Rooney transfer was your big one that summer. The Lucas transfer is just one of 3 (and counting) big ones. Had it been their only one, the backlash in France probably wouldn't have happened.
If they bought 10 players at £15m each, it would be the same. It's the grand total that is causing a stir, not the components.

I understand where you are coming from but I think the 'inexperience' part was implied or that could just be my interpetation of what he was getting at <ok>

Its actually the fees and the wages. The wages are insane. They make City look sensible!

Dalglish was always asked to justify himself last year, particularly over the Suarez affair and the Carroll price tag. Ferguson gets 2 or 3 inane questions after a game, and that's that.

Yeh but has he justified his existence?

I think not! Rude bastard! does he not know we are United fans and he shall do everything to please our unpleasable minds?

Baz doesnt even agree with himself and none of the Liverpool fans agree with him either.

<ok>

If you say so. Are you watching LFC tonight soft lad. See some real tiki-taka football instead of that **** imitation of the Barcelona style your mob have been poorly imitating for the past couple of years.

Maybe he has, but I'd have to see the transcript to make any sense out of what he's saying. I hated watching him post-game interviews.

But last season Kenny said Suarez should be defended from abuse from the crowd after the Fulham game and then called the **** what Evra got friendly banter.

(not opening the Surez / Evra thing just using it as an example )<ok>

I can't remember you all crying out about him being a hypocrite.

rather die if I am honest. I saw your last EL qualifiers. Scared me for life!

Well no, but you haven't got a thread like this on your board either. It's all sticks and stones.

Also just read this:

"Ribeiro [Moura's Agent] also explained the lengths he had gone to in order to seal his client's move to the Parc des Princes club.

"I'm just a worker," he added. "I've not been able to sleep for five days here in Europe. I can't rest and I miss my son.""

All for just £9m, eh?
