Can I have £1 on Romain Grosjean to get a podium @ 4/1 and £1 on Kimi Raikkonen to get fastest lap @ 6/1 please
Deprived of my traditional number in the sweepstakes, I'm going for plenty of 9s here! [Without restriction to three bets, I'd have also backed Webber for pole and win (both 9/1); Vettel pole (9/4); and Alonso pole (9/2). Anyway, here's how to blow a tenner with three raving, ravenous bets for Hungary: Button to win: £4 @ 9/1 Hamillton win: £4 @ 9/2 Button fastest FP1: £2 @ 14/1
That's another £9 for me with my other bet on pole. Thanks for not allowing me to take kimi instead of Lewis now!
Why am I never this lucky with real money? I wouldn't be that far off going to Silverstone again next year at this rate!
Season odds are up by the way, they'll be up until a week before the Belgian grand prix. I'll put match bets up if a bookie puts odds up, you can only place season bets if you haven't already used your three season long bets (i.e. if you didn't place any pre-season you can place 3 now, if you placed 1 pre-season you can place 2 now, if you placed 2 you can place 1 and if you didn't place any you can place up to 3 now).
Perhaps I've made a mistake. Can someone please check my maths? I began the weekend with £57, and made three bets with a total stake of £10. Losing bets: Two bets lost. These were £4 and £2 stakes, with a net loss of £6. Before considering my winning bet, I believe this leaves a total of £51. Winning bet: My winning bet was £4 Hamilton to win @ 9/2, which wins £18 plus returns the £4 stake, doesn't it? (£4x9=£36 divided by 2 equals £18 and returns the £4 stake). This is a total return of £22, isn't it? And when added to the £51 after my net loss of £6 from a starting total of £57, I calculate that I should now have £73. This is exactly £4 more than the £69 now showing in my account, so I am wondering if my £4 winning stake was returned? It's only a bit of fun but if my understanding is wrong, I always like to understand where I went wrong! Please help if you get a moment!
You're forgetting to subtract the £4 stake for the winning bet when it was placed, but then returning it when the bet was won. You had £57, placed £10 worth of bets taking your total to £47. Your winning bet then returned £22 (£18 winnings plus the £4 stake) taking your total back up to £69.
Aha! Thanks AG. I knew I'd done something wrong but couldn't see where I'd gone wrong. Cheers. Bearing in mind the above, Silver; I'm pretty sure you've extended the gap ! Congratulations on your winnings. (I must admit to having also decided on Hamilton for Pole, but changed it when I saw your bets! Plan A might have closed the gap a bit)
Is there any way that us bottom people can get our cyber £20 back but then we have declared our loss (as in if we get to the top we dont win!) I feel it will make it more fun for us.
Let the cursing begin!! £1 on Vettel WDC @ 11/4 £1 on Hamilton WDC @ 11/2 Thankyou for the extra money
